Coldstream Cottage Hospital was a community hospital located at Coldstream in Scotland. It was managed by NHS Borders.

History

The hospital was established following a donation from the Earl of Home. [1] It was designed by John McLachlan and opened in 1888. [1] It was extended by the addition of a second floor in 1912. [1] It joined the National Health Service in 1948, but, following a consultation, it closed in October 2006. [2]

Field Marshal Sir Alexander George Woodford, GCB, KCMG, was a British Army officer. After taking part in the Anglo-Russian invasion of Holland, he served in most of the battles of the Napoleonic Wars. During the Hundred Days he commanded the 2nd battalion of the Coldstream Guards at the Battle of Quatre Bras, the Battle of Waterloo and the storming of Cambrai.
