University of El Imam El Mahdi is a public Sudanese university based in the town of Kosti, Sudan. The university was founded in 1994 as a public university funded by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. [4] It is named in honor of Muhammad Ahmad al-Mahdi, the leader of the Mahdist revolution which overthrew the Ottoman-Egyptian administration and established their own "Islamic and national" government in Sudan (1885-1898).
Since its establishment, the university has striven to realize its goals in providing academic environment conducive to excellent teaching, learning, and research. In line with policy of the Sudanese Ministry of Higher Education , it endeavors to contribute to social, cultural and economic development of the local community and the whole country through the development and implementation of relevant curricula and academic programmes.
The university was founded in 1994 with three faculties: Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Faculty of Engineering and Technological Studies, and Faculty of Islamic and Arabic Sciences. It Then developed to include following faculties
The headquarters of the University of El imam Elmahdi is in Kosti --kilometers south Khartoum, and Its campuses are situated in three coterminous towns of the White Nile State : Kosti, Sudan, Rabak and Aljazeera Aba Island. In addition to the accomplishment of its academic and research missions, the University of Elimam El Mahdi is mindful of its role in the contribution to the service of the community and catering for its economic, social and cultural needs. Therefore, the university has put in place relevant research and service centers. These include:
It is considered the highest authority at the university and its chancellor is appointed by a republican decree after a recommendation of the minister of higher education and scientific research.
It is formed from the chancellor and members according to their jobs in the university, the chancellor, the university vice chancellor, the principal in addition to a number of faculties’ deans who represent teaching staff, laborers and students, with twenty one members from outside the university.
Making the policies and plans that drive at promoting the university and developing its performance scientifically, educationally, administratively and financially beside modernizing work systems, discussing the annual budget suggestions, making the development plans and establishing faculties, institutes, schools and centers.
An executive and financial affairs committee derived from the university council and it is formed from council chancellor, vice chancellor, deputy vice chancellor, the principal as a rapporteur of the committee, the financial controller, four members from the university and five members from outside the university.

Cairo University, also known as the Egyptian University from 1908 to 1940, and King Fuad I University and Fu'ād al-Awwal University from 1940 to 1952, is Egypt's premier public university. Its main campus is in Giza, immediately across the Nile from Cairo. It was founded on 21 December 1908; however, after being housed in various parts of Cairo, its faculties, beginning with the Faculty of Arts, were established on its current main campus in Giza in October 1929. It is the second oldest institution of higher education in Egypt after Al-Azhar University, notwithstanding the pre-existing higher professional schools that later became constituent colleges of the university. It was founded and funded as the Egyptian University by a committee of private citizens with royal patronage in 1908 and became a state institution under King Fuad I in 1925. In 1940, four years following his death, the university was renamed King Fuad I University in his honor. It was renamed a second time after the 1952 Egyptian Revolution. The university currently enrolls approximately 155,000 students in 20 faculties and 3 institutions. It counts three Nobel Laureates among its graduates and is one of the 50 largest institutions of higher education in the world by enrollment.

UofK was founded as Gordon Memorial College in 1902 and established in 1956 when Sudan gained independence. Yarmouk University, also abbreviated YU, is a comprehensive public and state supported university located near the city centre of Irbid in northern Jordan. Since its establishment in 1976, Yarmouk University (YU) has been at the forefront of Jordanian and Middle Eastern universities. Kosti is one of the major cities in Sudan that lies south of Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, and stands on the western bank of the White Nile river opposite Rabak ,the capital of the White Nile state and is connected to it by a bridge. The city is served by Kosti Railway Station and Rabak Airport.
The University of Kordofan is one of the largest universities in Sudan located in El-Obeid 560 km to the southwest of Khartoum. It was founded in 1990 and is recognized as one of the top universities in Sudan. It features several institutes, academic units and research centres, including the Institute of Gum Arabic Research and Desertification Studies, the Centre for Intermediate Technology in Agriculture and a Deanship for Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies. It is a member of the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World.
The University of Kufa is one of Iraqi universities located in Kufa, Iraq. It was founded on December 23, 1987 of only two faculties; Education for Women and Medicine. Worthy mentioned that the Faculty of Medicine was established roughly a decade earlier and it was affiliated to Al-Mustansiriyah University. In 1989, the Faculty of Arts was initiated consisting of only two departments: History and Arabic Language, and then in 1993 the faculties of Administration, Sciences and Engineering were founded. Al-Hussein Bin Talal University (AHU) is a public coeducational university located in the heart of the southern region, 210 km from the Capital Amman.about 9 km to the northwest of Ma'an city in the southern region of Jordan. Ibrahim Mohammed Mahmoud al-Kufahi is a Jordanian poet, critic and professor. He was born in Irbid, Jordan on March 1, 1967, and it is where he studied. He obtained a degree in Arabic language and literature from Yarmouk University and a master's degree in literature and criticism from the same university. He worked as an Arabic teacher publishing his literary works in Jordanian newspapers and magazines such as Al Ra'i, Yarmouk and Voice of the Generation. He has a collection of poetry entitled The Qur’an and Venice (1991) and several other works.
