[3] Kamprad studied customers at their store and he wanted a bag that can be carried on their shoulder, hanged on a trolley, and be carried in their hand.

On a trip to Taiwan, Kamprad and The head of purchasing, Lars Göran Peterson (commonly known by his initials, LGP) found a suitable manufacturer to make the bag. In which they specified the fact that the bag should be able to hold 50 kg and should be large enough to carry rolls of wallpaper. [3] Soon after, IKEA release the yellow bag, an earlier version of the FRAKTA which were only be able to be used in stores. Kamprad wanted to make two different bags to differentiate which bags are bought and which isn't. The yellow bag is only kept in the store while the blue bag can be purchased and can be taken home.
