The Satellite S series was Toshiba Information Systems' midrange line of Satellite laptops. [1] It was introduced in 2012, positioned above their mainstream L series but below the premium P range. [2] Features included Nvidia GeForce graphics processing units, Harman Kardon speakers, optional touchscreen displays, and optional backlit keyboards; it was the lowest-priced entry of the Satellite family to offer discrete graphics. Displays ranged from 14 to 17.3 inches diagonally in size, with only displays 15.6 inches diagonally or larger affording the option for full 1080p resolution initially—14-in panels were limited to 1366 × 768. [3] [4] The series was refreshed in 2015 to add a 4K panel option and raise the minimum screen size to 15.6 inches diagonally. [5] The first models of the S series included an optical drive bay, with an option for a Blu-ray drive. [4] The bay was removed in a 2014 refresh to make the laptop slimmer but restored in the 2015 refresh. [5] [6]
On its introduction, technology journalists wrote that the S series almost reached ultrabook status in terms of performance and features but fell short due to its heft. [1] [4] The first entries weighed a little over 5 pounds (2.3 kg); later entries reached the under-5-lb mark. [5]
Toshiba discontinued the S series in 2016 along with the entire Satellite line of laptops. [7]

Toughbook mobile computers are used in a wide variety of industries, including construction, defense, emergency services, government, healthcare, law enforcement, manufacturing, oil, gas, telecom, and utilities. The Toughbook brand mainly competes with other lines of rugged computers, such as Dell's Rugged Extreme.
The Qosmio series was Toshiba's consumer-marketed line of high performance desktop replacement laptops. The laptop was first released on July 25, 2004 as the E15-AV101 with a 1.7 GHz Intel Pentium M CPU, 512 megabytes of DDR SDRAM, and a 15-inch XGA 1,024 by 768 screen. Toshiba's most powerful laptop has undergone many revisions, with focus shifting from high-end multimedia functionality to heavy gaming. The current line, the X70 series, was released in 2013, featuring an Intel Core i7 processor with up to 32 gigabytes of DDR3 SDRAM and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 770M as well as a 17.3-inch Full HD display.
The Satellite was a line of laptops manufactured by Toshiba's computer subsidiary now known as Dynabook Inc. The number of Tecra notebook models available for sale is strictly dependent on the location: North and South America, Europe, Africa and South Africa, the Middle East or the South Pacific region.
The MacBook Air is a line of laptop computers developed and manufactured by Apple since 2008. It features a thin, light structure in a machined aluminum case and a 13-inch screen. The Macbook Air's lower prices relative to the larger, higher performance MacBook Pro have made it Apple's entry-level notebook since the discontinuation of the original MacBook line in 2011.
IdeaPad is a line of consumer-oriented laptop computers designed, developed and marketed by Lenovo. The IdeaPad mainly competes against computers such as Acer's Aspire, Dell's Inspiron and XPS, HP's Pavilion, Envy and Stream, Samsung's Sens and Toshiba's Satellite.
The Vaio S series was a line of notebook computers from Sony introduced in summer 2004. They have been touted as business laptops, and their designs have focused on being thin and light. The ThinkPad X series is a line of laptop computers and convertible tablets produced by Lenovo with less power than its other counterparts. It was initially produced by IBM until 2005.
The ThinkPad L-series laptops from Lenovo were designed with the theme of "green". It was discontinued on July 17, 2013, due to the poor sales of Windows RT devices.
G-Sync is a proprietary adaptive sync technology developed by Nvidia aimed primarily at eliminating screen tearing and the need for software alternatives such as Vsync. G-Sync eliminates screen tearing by allowing a video display's refresh rate to adapt to the frame rate of the outputting device rather than the outputting device adapting to the display, which could traditionally be refreshed halfway through the process of a frame being output by the device, resulting in screen tearing, or two or more frames being shown at once. In order for a device to use G-Sync, it must contain a proprietary G-Sync module sold by Nvidia. AMD has released a similar technology for displays, called FreeSync, which has the same function as G-Sync yet is royalty-free.
The Dell Inspiron series is a line of laptop computers made by American company Dell. The first Inspiron laptop model was introduced before 1999. Unlike the Dell Latitude line, which is aimed mostly at business/enterprise markets, Inspiron is a consumer-oriented line, often marketed towards individual customers as computers for everyday use.
