The 2004 LNBP was the 5th season of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional, one of the professional basketball leagues of Mexico. It started on July 1, 2004 and ended on December 8, 2004. [1] The league title was won by Santos Reales de San Luis, which defeated Halcones UV Xalapa in the championship series, 4–2.

Format

20 teams participate. [2] The teams are divided in 2 groups of 10 teams each, called Zonas (zones): Zona Norte (North) and Zona Sur (South). The first 8 teams of each group qualify for the playoffs. The group playoffs have quarterfinals (best-of-5), semifinals (best-of-7) and finals (best-of-7). [3] The winner of each group series qualify for the championship series (best-of-7), named Campeón de Campeones (Champion of Champions). [3]

Copa Independencia

The first edition of the Copa Independencia, a tournament that took place in September, was played between the 8 best ranked teams at the end of the first part of the season. [7] The tournament was won by Lobos de la UAdeC, which defeated Lechugueros de León, 94–88 in the final game played at Gimnasio Hermanos Carreón in Aguascalientes. [8]

All-Star Game

The 2004 LNBP All-Star Game was played in San Luis Potosí at the Auditorio Miguel Barragán on August 31, 2004. The game was played between a team of Mexican players (Mexicanos) and a team of foreign players (Extranjeros). The Mexican won, 111–106. [9]

Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional Sports league

The National Professional Basketball League is the top professional basketball league in Mexico. The league was founded in 2000 with 10 teams. Despite its short history, the LNBP has established itself as the one of the most important basketball leagues in Latin America.

The 2007–08 LNBP was the 8th season of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional, one of the professional basketball leagues of Mexico. The regular season began September 6, 2007 and ended on January 19, 2008. The playoffs ended on March 13, 2008. The league title was won by Halcones UV Xalapa, which defeated Soles de Mexicali in the championship series, 4–3.

Víctor Manuel Ávila Haro is a Mexican professional basketball player currently with the CIBACOPA team Caballeros de Culiacán. Since the CIBACOPA takes place for only a few months a year, Avila also plays for Halcones UV Xalapa in the LNBP. Throughout his career, Avila has played professional basketball in the United States, Mexico, Czech Republic and Puerto Rico. He has represented Mexico’s national basketball team on many occasions.

Santos de San Luis Professional basketball team

The Santos de San Luis, is the professional basketball team of the city of San Luis Potosí, that participates in the most important mexican basketball league Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional (LNBP).

The 2017–18 LNBP season was the 18th season of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional (LNBP). The regular season began on 20 October 2017 and ended on 2 March 2018. The playoffs began on 6 March and ended on 10 April 2018.

The Club Deportivo La Ola del Distrito Federal, also known simply as La Ola or La Ola Roja were a professional basketball team based in Mexico City. The team participated in the first edition of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional in 2000, and reached the championship game in 2003, losing to Panteras de Aguascalientes.

The 2001 LNBP was the 2nd season of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional, one of the professional basketball leagues of Mexico. It started on July 31, 2001 and ended on November 29, 2001. The league title was won by Gallos de Pelea de Ciudad Juárez, which defeated Lobos UAdeC in the championship series.

The 2002 LNBP was the 3rd season of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional, one of the professional basketball leagues of Mexico. It started on July 30, 2002 and ended on December 7, 2002. The league title was won by Correcaminos UAT Victoria, which defeated Correcaminos UAT Matamoros in the championship series, 4–3. Gallos de Pelea de Ciudad Juárez then defeated Correcaminos UAT Victoria in the Campeón de Campeones series, 4–0.

The 2006 LNBP was the 7th season of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional, one of the professional basketball leagues of Mexico. It started on July 6, 2006 and ended on November 17, 2006. The league title was won by Soles de Mexicali, which defeated Halcones UV Xalapa in the championship series, 4–3.

The 2019 CIBACOPA was the 19th season of the Circuito de Baloncesto de la Costa del Pacífico (CIBACOPA), one of the professional basketball leagues of Mexico. It started on March 27, 2019, and ended on July 17, 2019. The league title was won by Rayos de Hermosillo, who defeated first-year expansion team Mantarrayas de La Paz in the championship series, 4–3. It was the Rayos' third CIBACOPA title.

It started on August 30, 2011 and ended on February 13, 2012. The league title was won by Halcones Rojos Veracruz, which defeated Toros de Nuevo Laredo in the championship series, 4–1.

The 2012–13 LNBP was the 13th season of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional, one of the professional basketball leagues of Mexico. It started on September 4, 2012 and ended on February 27, 2013. The league title was won by Toros de Nuevo Laredo, which defeated Halcones UV Xalapa in the championship series, 4–2.

Eric Weissling American basketball coach (born 1988)

Eric Weissling is a professional basketball coach of Mexican, American and German descent.

The 2008–09 Liga de Nuevos Talentos season was split in two tournaments Apertura and Clausura. Liga de Nuevos Talentos was the fourth-tier football league of Mexico. The season was played between 29 August 2008 and 23 May 2009.

The 2014–15 Tercera División season is the fourth-tier football league of Mexico. The tournament began on 4 September 2014 and finished on 6 June 2015.
