BottleRock Napa Valley is an annual music festival held at the Napa Valley Expo in Napa, California.

The initial BottleRock was a five-day event that took place May 8–12, 2013. The event featured three stages with 60 bands, including Jackson Browne, Train, The Black Crowes, Zac Brown Band, The Shins, Primus, The Avett Brothers, Joan Jett, Cake, Jane's Addiction, The Flaming Lips, Kings of Leon, The Black Keys, Alabama Shakes, The Iron Heart, Ben Harper, Violent Femmes, Café Tacvba, Rodrigo y Gabriela and Charlie Musselwhite. Furthur had been scheduled, but withdrew from the lineup due to an injury and health issues suffered by Bob Weir. [1] It was the Napa Valley's first large-scale music festival. [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] Forty local wineries were featured at the festival. Although the festival attracted over 120,000 attendees and generated mostly positive reviews, several vendors and workers claim to have been left unpaid by organizers following the event. Estimates of well over $2.5 million for unpaid wages and services are being claimed by creditors including the City of Napa, [8] venue provider Napa Valley Expo, a variety of security, catering and transportation companies, a local of International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees and individuals. [9] [10] [11] To resolve financial woes, subsequent festival proceeds were used to partially pay off debts.

2014

A 2014 concert, organized by new ownership, took place on May 30 – June 1 at the Napa Valley Expo Center. [12] [13] The lineup of acts included The Cure, OutKast, Weezer, LL Cool J, Smash Mouth, Heart, Sublime with Rome, Third Eye Blind, De La Soul and Eric Church [14] along with more than 45 additional artists and groups. [15] Promoters for the 2014 event have indicated that they would pay off part of the unpaid debts incurred by the 2013 promoters. [16]

2015

The 2015 festival on May 29–31 featured headliners Imagine Dragons, Robert Plant, No Doubt, and other popular acts including Public Enemy, Gipsy Kings, Los Lobos, Foster The People, Cage The Elephant, Portugal. The Man, Los Amigos Invisibles, The Avett Brothers, and Snoop Dogg. [17]

2016

The 2016 festival which took place on May 27-29th featured headliners Stevie Wonder, Florence + The Machine and Red Hot Chili Peppers along with other popular artists; The Lumineers, Death Cab for Cutie, Lenny Kravitz, Walk the Moon, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Ziggy Marley and Grouplove. [18]

2017

The 2017 festival, which took place on May 26-28th, featured performers including Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Maroon 5, Modest Mouse, Silversun Pickups, Foo Fighters, Live, and The Roots. [19]

2018

The 2018 festival, which took place on May 25-27th, featured performers including Bruno Mars, The Killers, MUSE, the Chainsmokers, Halsey, Snoop Dogg, Incubus, Earth, Wind & Fire, Natalia Lafourcade, Head and the Heart, Billy Idol, Thievery Corporation, Phantogram, Tank and the Bangas, Mike D, Michael Franti & Spearhead, and Dean Lewis. 2019

The 2019 festival, which took place on May 24–26, featured performers including Imagine Dragons, Neil Young, Mumford & Sons, Logic, AJR, Cypress Hill, Gang of Youths, Too $hort, Pharrell Williams, Santana, OneRepublic, Nathaniel Rateliff, Tash Sultana, Sylvan Esso, Gary Clark Jr., and Lord Huron. 2021

The 2020 festival, which was scheduled for October, was to include Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stevie Nicks, Miley Cyrus, Khalid, Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, Zedd, Brandi Carlile, The Avett Brothers, Janelle Monae, Maggie Rogers, Blondie, Of Monsters and Men, Maren Morris, and Empire of the Sun. [22] In July 2020, the festival was called off due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and rescheduled for September 2021. [23]

Among the performers at the 10th annual festival will be Duran Duran.

The festival typically starts on the second Thursday in June and lasts four days. It has been held every year except in 2020, when it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and in 2021 when it was canceled due to excessive rain from Hurricane Ida flooding the campground. The main attractions of this festival are the multiple stages featuring live music with a diverse array of musical styles including indie rock, classic rock, world music, hip hop, jazz, Americana, bluegrass, country music, folk, gospel, reggae, pop, electronic, and other alternative music. Musical acts begin Wednesday evening for early arrivals, continue throughout the festival, with performances starting each day around noon, and some stages entertaining festival goers until sunrise.

The Reading and Leeds Festivals are a pair of annual music festivals that take place in Reading and Leeds in England. The events take place simultaneously on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the August bank holiday weekend. The Reading Festival is held at Little John's Farm on Richfield Avenue in central Reading, near Caversham Bridge. The Leeds event is held in Bramham Park, near Wetherby, the grounds of a historic house. The All Good Music Festival and Camp Out was a weekend-long event held annually in July. Since its inception in 1997, it had been held at venues along the Mid-Atlantic, including Trip's Farm Masontown, West Virginia, Brandywine, Maryland and most notably Marvin's Mountaintop. It moved to Legend Valley in Thornville, Ohio in 2012. All Good announced they would be taking a short hiatus in 2014 and not be having a festival. They returned in 2015 in Summit Point, West Virginia. Headlining acts were Primus, moe. and Cake. In 2016, it was announced the festival had been retired and would be replaced by a two-day event at Merriweather Post Pavilion.

Copia: The American Center for Wine, Food & the Arts was a non-profit museum and educational center in downtown Napa, California, dedicated to wine, food and the arts of American culture. The center, planned and largely funded by vintners Robert and Margrit Mondavi, was open from 2001 to 2008. The 78,632-square-foot (7,305.2 m2) museum had galleries, two theaters, classrooms, a demonstration kitchen, a restaurant, a rare book library, and a 3.5-acre (1.4 ha) vegetable and herb garden; there it hosted wine and food tasting programs, exhibitions, films, and concerts. The main and permanent exhibition of the museum, "Forks in the Road", explained the origins of cooking through to modern advances. The museum's establishment benefited the city of Napa and the development and gentrification of its downtown.

Furthur was an American rock band founded in 2009 by former Grateful Dead members Bob Weir and Phil Lesh. The original lineup also included John Kadlecik of Dark Star Orchestra on lead guitar, RatDog's Jeff Chimenti on keyboards and Jay Lane on percussion, and Joe Russo of the Benevento/Russo Duo on drums. Named after the famous touring bus used by Ken Kesey and the Merry Pranksters in the 1960s, Furthur was an improvisational jam band that performed music primarily from the extensive Grateful Dead songbook, as well as their own original music and that of several other well-known artists. In addition to the original members, the band's lineup included backup vocalists Sunshine Becker of the a cappella ensemble SoVoSó and Jeff Pehrson of the folk rock bands Box Set and the Fall Risk. After five years, Furthur disbanded in late 2014.

Firefly Music Festival is a music festival produced by AEG Presents that was first held on July 20–22, 2012, in Dover, Delaware. Firefly takes place in The Woodlands of Dover Motor Speedway, a 105-acre (42 ha) festival ground, over the span of three days. Many nationally known musical acts have performed at the festival, with over 100 performances held over the course of the festival in 2016. The festival producers had worked together to establish the event at the current venue with the hopes of having "an open-air festival on the East Coast with plenty of outdoor camping". In past years, the festival has included up to seven stages: The Porch Stage, The Lawn Stage, The Backyard Stage, the Treehouse, The Coffee House, The Pavilion and The Firefly Stage. In 2019, the festival had six main stages, two sponsor stages, and one stage in each camping hub. Firefly offers three different pass options; general admission, VIP, and Super VIP.

Lockn' Festival, first known as Interlocken Music Festival, was an annual four-day music festival held at Oak Ridge Farm near Arrington in Nelson County, Virginia. The festival focused primarily on jam bands and other music improvisation acts. Its inaugural event took place September 5–8, 2013, drew nearly 25,000 fans and featured notable groups such as Furthur, Trey Anastasio Band, Gov't Mule, Widespread Panic featuring John Fogerty, The String Cheese Incident featuring Zac Brown, and The Black Crowes.

The 2014 South Napa earthquake occurred in the North San Francisco Bay Area on August 24 at 03:20:44 Pacific Daylight Time. At 6.0 on the moment magnitude scale and with a maximum Mercalli intensity of VIII (Severe), the event was the largest in the San Francisco Bay Area since the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. The epicenter of the earthquake was located to the south of Napa and to the northwest of American Canyon on the West Napa Fault.

The Uptown Theatre is an entertainment venue located in Napa, California, United States. The theater is in an Art Deco style building that originally opened to the public in 1937. As of 2023 it is utilized as a concert and entertainment venue with a seating capacity of 863.

Delta Tour was the fourth headlining concert tour by British band Mumford & Sons, in support of the album of the same name (2018). It began on 16 November 2018 in Dublin, Ireland and the last show before the COVID-19 pandemic was held on 8 March 2020 at Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Cayetano Juarez Adobe</span> United States historic place

The Cayetano Juárez Adobe, often called locally the Old Adobe, is the oldest building in Napa, California. Built in 1845 by early Californio settler Cayetano Juárez, the structure was originally a family house and was later converted to a restaurant and bar. After an ownership change in 2014, it underwent an extensive restoration which was completed in 2019. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2015. It is currently the home of a Mexican restaurant.
