The Phunk Junkeez is an American rap rock band from Phoenix, Arizona formed in 1991 by rappers Joe Valiente (Soulman) and Kirk Reznik. Their second album, Injected (1995), was co-produced by Fishbone singer Angelo Moore and Ross Robinson. It featured a cover of Kiss's song "I Love It Loud" which appeared in the film Tommy Boy, and was Phunk Junkeez' most successful single.
Uroš Umek, better known as DJ Umek or simply UMEK, is a Slovenian dance music producer and DJ. Musically active since 1993, he is the owner of several techno record labels. In 1999 he founded Consumer Recreation and Recycled Loops, the former of which he co-runs with Valentino Kanzyani. Recycled Loops formed the sublabel Earresistible Musick in 2001, and in 2007 Umek founded the large techno label 1605.

Exceeder had originally been an instrumental and had received a vinyl-only release in the UK in 2006. The new version of the track, "Perfect (Exceeder)", is a mashup with American rapper Princess Superstar's song "Perfect" and reached number 3 on the national British chart in January 2007. The track was a big hit in many countries worldwide. He also had chart success in 2011 with his song "Runaway"—which is a modern version of "Runaway" by Eruption, and "Boadicea", featuring Róisín Murphy—in 2016 with "Fashion Killa", and with many club releases since. Mason is the owner of the record label Animal Language.
