Season chronology

The twelfth series of Dancing on Ice debuted on ITV on 5 January 2020. [1] During the finale of the eleventh series, it was announced that Dancing on Ice had been renewed for another series. [2] The series is once again filmed in the purpose-built studio at Bovingdon Airfield. [3]

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby returned as hosts. [4] On 1 September 2019, it was announced that Jason Gardiner would not return as a judge and that series 1 participant John Barrowman would replace him. [5] On 22 December 2019, ITV aired Dancing on Ice at Christmas, a special featuring the contestants of series 12 along with previous champion Ray Quinn and series 11 contestant Gemma Collins. [6] Jake Quickenden was also supposed to perform, but on 13 November 2019, it was announced that he had to pull out due to a neck injury. [7]

Joe Swash and Alex Murphy were announced as the winners on 8 March 2020. Swash had originally been partnered with Alexandra Schauman; however, she had to withdraw after sustaining an injury. [8]

Couples

On 24 September 2019, Maura Higgins and Michael Barrymore were announced as the first two celebrities who would be participating in the series. [9] More celebrities were revealed in the following days before the full line-up was announced on 1 October. [10] On 9 October, it was announced that this series will feature the first ever same-sex couple: Ian "H" Watkins and Matt Evers. [11] [12] [13]

Comedian and television presenter Michael Barrymore was originally announced as a contestant, but on 18 December 2019, he had to withdraw from the show due to a broken hand. Barrymore was replaced by former Blue Peter presenter Radzi Chinyanganya. [14] Model and actress Caprice was originally partnered with Hamish Gaman, but after her first performance, they "parted ways" and she was re-partnered with Oscar Peter. [15] [16] She later withdrew from the competition on 2 February. [17] Joe Swash was originally partnered with Alexandra Schauman; however, after she sustained an injury, she couldn't perform for the rest of the series and Swash was re-partnered with Alex Murphy on 26 January. <i>Dancing on Ice series 1</i> First series of Dancing on Ice

The first series of Dancing on Ice aired from 14 January to 4 March 2006 on ITV. It was presented by Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, and judged by the "Ice Panel", consisting of Nicky Slater, Karen Kresge, Jason Gardiner, Karen Barber and Robin Cousins. Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean coached and trained the contestants.

The fourth series of Dancing on Ice aired from 11 January to 22 March 2009 on ITV. Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby returned as main presenters, while Karen Barber, Nicky Slater, Jason Gardiner, Ruthie Henshall and Robin Cousins returned to the "Ice Panel".

The third series of Dancing on Ice aired from 13 January to 16 March 2008 on ITV. The show moved from Saturday nights to Sunday nights, with Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby returning as hosts. Karen Barber, Nicky Slater, Jason Gardiner, and Robin Cousins returned to the "Ice Panel", with Ruthie Henshall joining as a replacement for Natalia Bestemianova. The commissioning of the series was first confirmed by Schofield at the 2007 BAFTA Awards.

The sixth series of Dancing on Ice aired from 9 January to 27 March 2011, on ITV. The eighth series of Dancing on Ice aired from on 6 January to 10 March 2013, on ITV. Phillip Schofield and Christine Bleakley returned as hosts, with Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean serving as mentors. The series was judged by Robin Cousins, Karen Barber, Ashley Roberts, and Jason Gardiner. Gardiner had departed after series 6 in 2011, but returned to replace Louie Spence, while Ashley Roberts joined the Ice Panel as Katarina Witt's replacement. The ninth series of Dancing on Ice aired from 5 January to 9 March 2014 on ITV. <i>Big Brother</i> (British series 16) Season of television series

Big Brother 2015, also known as Big Brother 16 and Big Brother: Timebomb, was the sixteenth series of the British reality television series Big Brother, hosted by Emma Willis and narrated by Marcus Bentley. The series launched on Channel 5 in the United Kingdom and TV3 in the Republic of Ireland on 12 May 2015 and ended on 16 July 2015, a week earlier than planned. This was the earliest launch of a Big Brother series since the show's inception in 2000. It is the fifth regular series and the thirteenth series of Big Brother overall to air on Channel 5, and is the first regular series to air in May since Big Brother 8 in 2007. The sixth series of Love Island began broadcasting on 12 January 2020, on ITV2. The series was announced on 24 July 2019, when it was confirmed that two seasons would air in 2020, and this is also the first winter edition of the seasons. Unlike the summer edition, the luxury villa is located in Cape Town. This series is also the first to be hosted by Laura Whitmore, who has taken over from Caroline Flack. The series is narrated by Iain Stirling.

The seventh series of Love Island began broadcasting on 28 June 2021 and was hosted by Laura Whitmore on ITV2. Iain Stirling returned to narrate the series. The series was originally planned to air in the summer of 2020, but was postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Strictly Come Dancing returned for its eighteenth series with a launch show on 17 October 2020 on BBC One, and the live shows beginning on 24 October. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the series launched a month later than usual and ran for only nine weeks instead of the usual thirteen. Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman returned as hosts, while Zoe Ball and Rylan Clark-Neal returned to host Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two. The fifteenth series of Dancing on Ice debuted on ITV on 15 January 2023. During the finale of the fourteenth series, it was announced that Dancing on Ice had been renewed for another series. The series was once again filmed in the purpose-built studio at Bovingdon Airfield. Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby returned as hosts. Ashley Banjo, Christopher Dean, Oti Mabuse, and Jayne Torvill also returned as judges. This series decreased the number of live shows to nine weeks instead of ten, and featured one fewer celebrity contestant than usual.

The sixteenth series of Dancing on Ice is set to begin airing on ITV on 14 January 2024. During the finale of the fifteenth series, it was announced that Dancing on Ice had been renewed for another series. The series was once again filmed in the purpose-built studio at Bovingdon Airfield, which was set up for the tenth series.
