Eagle Crest Resort is located in Ypsilanti, Michigan, located in the southeast part of the state. The resort consists of the Ann Arbor Marriott Ypsilanti at Eagle Crest, Eastern Michigan University's Eagle Crest Conference Center and Eagle Crest Golf Club. The facility was built in 1989. In 2006, Golf Digest gave the golf course a 4 out of 5 star rating.

The resort is 137 acres located adjacent to Ford Lake. The resort is just off Interstate 94 in Ypsilanti. The facility was built in 1989 and is designed by Karl V. Litten. The facility is broken down into three parts hotel, conference center and a golf course. The facility also has a jogging trail and tennis courts. The tennis courts is used by Eastern Michigan Woman's Tennis. As well, the golf course is home to EMU Men's and Women's Golf. The conference center is owned by Eastern Michigan University has 27,000 square feet (2,500 m2) of meeting space. The resort is also part of the International Association of Conference Centers, IACC.[ citation needed ]

Hotel

The hotel has 235 rooms. The hotel is not run by Eastern Michigan University but by Marriott International. The hotel's name is The Ann Arbor Marriott Ypsilanti at Eagle Crest. The hotel went through a multimillion-dollar renovation in 2008. [1]

Golf Course

The 18-hole course is 6,750 yards total in length and is a par 72 course. The course has a parkland style and a bent fairway grass. The course is only open between March and November. In 2006, the course was given a 4 star rating out of 5 by Golf Digest. [2]

The only exception is the women's rowing program, which is a member of the Colonial Athletic Association. Altogether, the Eagles have won three NCAA Division II national championships and 13 NAIA Division I national championships in five different sports ; moreover, EMU has been NCAA Division I national runner-up twice. In 1940, the men's cross country team finished second to Indiana University at the national meet hosted by Michigan State University.

The Bobby Jones Open is a golf tournament for people whose names are Robert Jones, Bob Jones, Bobby Jones, Robby Jones, or Rob Jones. It was founded by Robert A. Jones from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. The tournament has raised over $300,000 for Syringomyelia research and support for Syringomyelia patients. It is named after Bobby Jones, considered the greatest amateur golfer ever. In 1930 at the age of 28, he won the U.S. and British Opens and the U.S. and British Amateur Championships. To date, no one has duplicated that record. He was stricken with Syringomyelia, a disorder of the spinal nerves which eventually led to his death in 1971.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Ann Arbor Bus Depot</span> Bus station in Ann Arbor, Michigan

The Ann Arbor Bus Depot was an intercity bus station located at 116 W. Huron in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It was built in 1940 as the Eastern Michigan Motorbus Terminal, and operated as a bus station until its demolition in 2014. It was designed by the Cleveland-based architects Banfield and Cumming, in partnership with Ann Arbor architect Douglas Loree, in an Art Deco style. Between 1988 and 2001, it was listed as an Individual Historic Property on the Ann Arbor Register of Historic Places. The Bus Depot was demolished in 2014 to make way for a six-story, 110-room hotel on the property, although its facade and marquee are being preserved and will be incorporated into the new hotel. It served as Ann Arbor's Greyhound station until shortly before its demolition in 2014. It was also both the last surviving example of Streamline Moderne architecture and the last public Art Deco structure in Ann Arbor.

The Boar's Head Resort, formerly known as the Boar's Head Inn, is a hotel and resort usually described as being in Charlottesville, Virginia but in fact located in Albemarle County, Virginia just outside the city. The resort is situated on 573 acres (0.895 sq mi) and includes a golf course, 26 tennis courts, and a spa and fitness center.
