The Fujitsu Toshiba IS12T is a mobile smartphone running the Windows Phone operating system and was designed and manufactured by Fujitsu Toshiba. [3] The phone is waterproof [4] and is the first and only Windows Phone to be officially released in Japan under carrier KDDI. [5]

Launch

Fujitsu Toshiba mobile communications announced the Fujitsu Toshiba IS12T on July 26, 2011 and available for retail on September 11. [6]

Hardware

The IS12T is the first waterproof Windows Phone and also the first to feature a 13.2 Megapixel camera. It can operate on either CDMA2000/EV-DO Rev. A or GSM/UMTS networks. [7]

It is able to receive earthquake warnings. [8]

Internet Explorer Mobile is a discontinued mobile browser developed by Microsoft, based on versions of the MSHTML (Trident) layout engine. IE Mobile comes loaded by default with Windows Phone and Windows CE. Later versions of Internet Explorer Mobile are based on the desktop version of Internet Explorer. Older versions however, called Pocket Internet Explorer, are not based on the same layout engine.

Microsoft engineering groups are the operating divisions of Microsoft. Starting in April 2002, Microsoft organised itself into seven groups, each an independent financial entity. In September 2005, Microsoft announced a reorganization of its then seven groups into three.
