The GCC Games is a regional multi-sport event which involves participants from the Gulf Cooperation Council region. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] The GCC Games, a quadrennial multi-sport event, was established by the union and first held in 2011. [6] There are numerous long-running GCC Championships for individual sports, including: the Gulf Cooperation Council Athletics Championships (first held in 1986; youth section from 2000) [7] football, Archery, athletics, Badminton, sailing, [8] basketball, [9] Swimming, Marathon Swimming, Diving, Water Polo, Artistic Swimming, [10] tennis, [11] gymnastics (senior and youth levels), [12] [13] weightlifting, [14] futsal, [15] snooker, [16] Cycling (BMX Freestyle, BMX Racing, Road Cycling, Track Cycling), Chess and table tennis. [17] The 3rd edition of the game had to be organized in June 2019, but held in 2022 due to the internal issues between the GCC state countries. The 4th edition has been announced and will happen as per the announced dates. For the first time the games will be organized by the new, young and talented faces of GCC team.

The second West Asian Para Games is taking place in Amman between the 15 – 22 September. Six countries will compete in the wheelchair basketball competition, Iraq, Bahrain, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Oman and Jordan. The teams will be split across two pools and will play a round robin followed by knockout phase.
3rd West Asia Para Games which takes place in Bahrain between 20 – 25 February.
4th West Asian Para Games will take place in Sharjah, UAE between 27 January – 3 February 2024.

The Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, also known as the Gulf Cooperation Council, is a regional, intergovernmental, political, and economic union comprising Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. The council's main headquarters is located in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. The Charter of the GCC was signed on 25 May 1981, formally establishing the institution.
The Arab states of the Persian Gulf or the Arab Gulf states refers to a group of Arab states bordering the Persian Gulf. There are seven member states of the Arab League in the region: Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. The Arabian Gulf Cup, often referred to simply as the Gulf Cup, is a biennial football competition governed by the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation for its eight member nations. The reigning champions are Iraq, having won their fourth title at the 25th edition, as hosts, held in 2023.
Al-Ettifaq Football Club is a professional football club in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. It was established by the merger of three Dammam-based clubs in 1945. Al-Ettifaq were the first Saudi team to win an international title – the 1984 Arab Club Champions Cup. They were also the first to win the Saudi Premier League without any defeats, and the first Saudi team to win the GCC Champions League. Al-Ettifaq have a total of 13 titles to their name. The club also has its own futsal section.
Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people in Kuwait face significant challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents. Same-sex sexual activity between men is specifically outlawed and LGBT individuals may also be targeted under the public morality laws. The Gulf Railway, also known as the GCC Railway, is a proposed railway system to connect all six Gulf Cooperation Council member states in Eastern Arabia. The rail network will have a total length of 2,177 km. The project is estimated to cost US$250 billion. It was scheduled to be completed by 2025, although as of 2023, construction work has yet to start.
The Gulf Ice Hockey Championship, also known as the GCC Gulf Ice Hockey Championships, is an international ice hockey competition involving countries from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. The inaugural tournament took place on May 25 to May 30 in Kuwait City, Kuwait, and was organized by the Kuwait Ice Hockey Association. The championship has featured teams from six countries since its formation and currently consists of Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. The United Arab Emirates has won all four editions of the championship, while Kuwait has finished second on three occasions and Qatar on one.
The 2011 GCC Games was the first multi-sport event for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. It was held in Bahrain, from 11 October to 22 October 2011. Around 1,500 sportspeople participated in 11 sports.
The Abd al-Qays is an ancient Arabian tribe from the Rabi'a branch of the North Arabian tribes. The tribe is from Eastern Arabia, however pre 400AD the tribe lived a nomadic life in Al Hejaz Region in modern day Saudi Arabia. The majority of the Baharna are from the Abd al-Qays tribe, with a significant minority from the cousin tribes of Bakr and Taghlib Ibn Wai’l tribes, which are today known as the Anizah tribe. The majority of the tribe resides today in The Gulf cooperation Council countries, which are Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman and the UAE.
Co-Op Societies, often shortened to Co-Op, refer to public organizations that are set up in each area of Kuwait and to provide services to its residents. These services mainly manifest in setting up grocery and convenience stores in each area, but Co-Op societies also often include a variety of different stores, both operated by the Co-Op and rented to private entities. There are around 60 Co-Ops in operation today, making up around 60–70% of retail trade in Kuwait.

The Iran national ice hockey team is the national men's ice hockey team of Iran. Migrant workers in the Gulf Cooperation Council region involves the prevalence of migrant workers in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Together, these six countries form the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), established in 1981. The GCC cooperates on issues related to economy and politics, and the subject of migrant workers constitutes a substantial part of the council's collaboration. All of the GCC countries are dependent on migrant labor to bolster and stimulate economic growth and development, as the GCC countries possess an abundance of capital while the domestic labor capacity is low. Although migrant workers in the Persian Gulf region amount to no more than 10% of all migrants worldwide, they constitute a significant part of the populations of their host countries.

The Council of CBSE Affiliated Schools in the Gulf, or CBSE Gulf Sahodaya is a body of 193 principals of Central Board of Secondary Education-affiliated schools in the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council, namely Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
The 2022 GCC Women's Gulf Cup was a women's T20I cricket (WT20I) tournament played in Oman from 20 to 26 March 2022. Organised by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the tournament featured the women's national teams of Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates. Bahrain and Saudi Arabia played their first official WT20I matches during this tournament.
The 2025 World Men's Handball Championship qualification decided who qualified for the 2025 World Men's Handball Championship in Croatia, Denmark and Norway. Qualifying occurred between February 2023 and June 2024. The championship will feature 32 teams for the third time.
