Igli Hasani is an Albanian politician and the current Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs in Albania. [1] [2]
Hasani studied at the University of Tirana's Faculty of Social Sciences for Philosophy-Sociology and Faculty of Law,and at King's College London where he earned a master's degree in international relations. At the same time,he has completed a variety of high-level professional credentials at places like the Marshall Center in Germany and the Royal College of UK Defense Studies. [3] [4]
Hasani has worked for the Ministry of Defence for 17 years (2001–2018) [3] in a variety of executive positions,including Director of NATO and contacts with Foreign Countries and Director of Euro-Atlantic Integrations. [5] [6] [4]
Igli Hasani was Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to Vienna,Austria. [1] [7] [8]
From January 2018 to November 2021,he was head of the Mission of Albania to the OSCE. In the period from October 2021 to September 2023,Igli Hasani held the position of OSCE Coordinator for Economic-Environmental Affairs. This was the highest position held by an Albanian citizen in the OSCE since Albania's membership in the Organization in 1991. [1] [9] [10] [8] [7]
In December 2018,Albania received the support of the participating States of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) to chair the Organization in 2020. The Albanian Chairmanship of the OSCE would be the first time that Albania would chair the world’s largest regional security organization,thus taking on an unprecedented responsibility in multilateral diplomacy. To this end,in the years 2019-2021 when Albania was part of the OSCE leadership Troika,Ambassador Hasani led an international team composed of 40+ Albanian and foreign diplomats and experts,work which culminated in the Albanian Chairmanship of the OSCE in 2020. In a very difficult year marked by the global pandemic of COVID-19,Albania,under the leadership of Prime Minister Rama as the Chair in Office of the OSCE,and Ambassador Hasani in Vienna as Chair of the OSCE Permanent Council, achieved concrete results for the Organization,which included the non-interrupted operations in virtual format for the first time in history,as well as the election of the 4 OSCE leadership positions. Also,in the Ministerial of Tirana,the first held under pandemic conditions and in an almost fully virtual format and without the possibility of in person negotiations,the Albanian Chairmanship managed to secure consensus for the adoption of 11 decisions of the Council of Ministers of the OSCE,in each of the dimensions of the work of the Organization,specifically that of security,economic-environmental,and human rights. The Albanian chairmanship of the OSCE was widely considered successful,proving the readiness of Albania and its diplomatic service for important tasks in the international arena. [14] [15] [16]
He took over as Chairman of the Group of Asian Partners for Cooperation in January 2021. [6]
Sali Ram Berisha is an Albanian cardiologist and conservative politician who served as the president of Albania from 1992 to 1997 and 32nd prime minister from 2005 to 2013. Berisha serves as Chairman of the Democratic Party of Albania since 2022 and has held the position previously from 1990 to 2013. He also serves as the incumbent Leader of Opposition in the Albanian parliament.
Edi Rama is an Albanian politician,painter,writer,former university lecturer,publicist and former basketball player,who has served as the 33rd and incumbent Prime Minister of Albania since 2013 and chairman of the Socialist Party of Albania since 2005. He was appointed Minister of Culture,Youth and Sports in 1998,an office he held until 2000. First elected mayor of Tirana in 2000,he was reelected in 2003 and 2007.

Osmani was the first Macedonian of Albanian descent to lead the top diplomatic post in North Macedonia.

A UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying match involving the national association football teams of Serbia and Albania took place on 14 October 2014 at Partizan Stadium,in Belgrade,Serbia. The match was abandoned after several incidents of hooliganism took place both on and off the field. Serbian fans had chanted "Ubij,ubij Šiptara",and threw flares and other objects on the pitch. At that point a drone quadcopter carrying an Albanian nationalist banner with an image of Greater Albania appeared on the pitch.
Local elections were held in Albania on 21 June 2015. Voters elected mayors,municipal council members,municipal unit mayors and municipal unit members. The Central Election Commission of Albania was responsible for administrating the elections. This provided that the community type of komuna was abolished and at the same time the total number of communities were reduced from 373 to 61 Bashkia. Those entitled to vote elected the executive and legislative representatives of their communities,the 61 mayors (and on the other hand the total of 1595 municipal councils.
Endri Fuga is a political strategist and consultant,known for his role as the Director of Communications to the Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama. Fuga's long-term relationship with the Prime Minister dates back to when Rama was mayor of Tirana. Fuga became known as the modernizer of the Socialist Party communications systems,as well as the architect of the 2013 left wing coalition campaign,which was characterized by the massive use of digital communication and social media. Prior to joining Rama at the Municipality of Tirana,Fuga was a civic society advocate,working closely with his friend,current Mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj. Fuga has worked as a strategist to political campaigns in Europe,South East Asia,Latin America and Africa. He has also been a consultant for different international organizations,like USAID,IRI,the Open Society Foundation in different parts of the world.
