Kuusvesi is a medium-sized lake of Central Finland, in Laukaa Municipality. It belongs to the Kymijoki main catchment area. [1] The inflow to the lake Kuusvesi is Simunankoski rapids and the outflow is Tarvaalanvirta rapids, which are protected by the rapid protection program of Finland.

Vuoksi

The Vuoksi is a river running through the northernmost part of the Karelian Isthmus from Lake Saimaa in southeastern Finland to Lake Ladoga in northwestern Russia. The river enters Lake Ladoga in three branches, an older main northern branch at Priozersk (Käkisalmi), a smaller branch a few kilometers to the north of it, and a new southern branch entering 50 kilometers (31 mi) further southeast as Burnaya River, which has become the main stream in terms of water discharge. Since 1857, the old northern distributaries drain only the lower reaches of the Vuoksi basin and are not fed by Lake Saimaa. The northern and southern branches actually belong to two separate river systems, which at times get isolated from each other in dry seasons.

Kymi (river)

The Kymi is a river in Finland. It begins at Lake Päijänne, flows through the provinces of Päijänne Tavastia, Uusimaa and Kymenlaakso and discharges into the Gulf of Finland. The river passes the towns of Heinola and Kouvola. The town of Kotka is located on the river delta. The length of the river is 204 kilometres (127 mi), but its drainage basin of 37,107 square kilometres (14,327 sq mi) extends to almost 600 kilometres (370 mi) inside the Tavastia, Central Finland, Savonia and Ostrobothnia. The furthest source of the river is Lake Pielavesi, its furthest point being some 570 kilometres (350 mi) from the sea measured by flow route. The name of the river, itself, kymi, means "large river", in Old Finnish.

Losevo, Leningrad Oblast

Losevo is a rural locality in Priozersky District, Leningrad Oblast, located at the junction of Vuoksi River and Lake Sukhodolskoye on Karelian Isthmus. It is a railway station of the Saint Petersburg–Khiytola railroad. Before the Winter War and Continuation War, it was a village of the Sakkola municipality of Finland known as Kiviniemi.

Kermajärvi

Kermajärvi is a medium-sized lake in the Vuoksi main catchment area. It is located in the region of Southern Savonia in Heinävesi. It is the country's 53rd largest lake with an area of 85.57 square kilometres (33.04 sq mi) and consists of a wide open lake with plenty of islands in both northwest and southeast parts of it and several long, narrow bays in both ends.

Vanajavesi

Vanajavesi is a rather large lake in Finland. It is part of the Kokemäenjoki basin. The lake gathers waters from a wide area in the regions of Pirkanmaa, Tavastia Proper and parts of the Päijänne Tavastia region.

Vuosjärvi is a medium-sized lake of Finland in northern Central Finland, Kannonkoski and Viitasaari. The water flows from Lake Kivijärvi through Hilmo Power Station and the water continues to the Huopanankoski rapids. Near the power station there are Hilmonjoki rapids, too. The lake is quite shallow and good for fishing lake forells and zanders.

Saraavesi

Saraavesi is a medium-sized lake in Laukaa, Finland. It flows to lake Leppävesi via Kuhankoski rapids. The lake is part of Keitele Canal, a waterway connecting Lake Keitele and Päijänne. Saraakallio rock paintings are located on the shore of Saraavesi.

Kynsivesi – Leivonvesi

Kynsivesi–Leivonvesi is a medium-sized lake of Central Finland, in the municipalities of Laukaa, Hankasalmi and Konnevesi. It belongs to the Kymijoki main catchment area. The outflow to the lake Kuusvesi is Simunankoski rapids.
