Infantry fighting vehicle KF419 (200 on order) [23] On August 16, 2020, the Government of Hungary and Rheinmetall Group have signed a contract to start manufacturing the Lynx infantry fighting vehicle family in Hungary. Estimated to reach full operational capability in the Hungarian Defence Forces by 2026–2027. [24] The following versions will be produced: Infantry fighting vehicle (base model), mortar carrier (120 mm), ambulance and mobile command post (C2/C3). [25] The 209 [26] pieces of Lynx will be protected by the Rheinmetall's StrikeShield Active Protection System. [27] A government document published in June 2021 talks about 256 Lynx infantry fighting vehicles being ordered. The new H-14 series, can be armoured within 48 hours. The armour defends soldiers from bullets, splinters and IEDs. [64] Production of Rába H-14, H-18, and H-25 trucks commenced in 2004, these initially locally designed chassis fitted with MAN engines, associated components including cooling system and the MAN modular military cab. Current production is CKD using some locally sourced components such as axles. About 300 examples were built using components supplied between 2004 and 2006, with a further 150 assembled from CKD kits delivered from 2007.[ citation needed ]

The Hungarian Defence Forces is the national defence force of Hungary. Since 2007, the Hungarian Armed Forces is under a unified command structure. The Ministry of Defence maintains the political and civil control over the army. A subordinate Joint Forces Command is coordinating and commanding the HDF corps. In 2020, the armed forces had 22,700 personnel on active duty. In 2019, military spending was $1.904 billion, about 1.22% of the country's GDP, well below the NATO target of 2%. Its name was inherited from the Royal Hungarian Honvéd which went under the same Hungarian title of Magyar Királyi Honvédség from 1867 to 1918. Initially restricted by the Treaty of Trianon to 35,000 men, the army was steadily upgraded during the 1930s and fought on the side of the Axis powers in the Second World War.

Our Homeland Movement is a Hungarian far-right political party. It was founded by Ásotthalom mayor and former Jobbik Vice-President, László Toroczkai, along with other Jobbik dissidents that left the organization after the party's leadership moved away from its radical beginnings.

Origo is a major Hungarian-language news website founded in 1998 by telecommunications company MATÁV. In 2018, Origo was the third most visited Hungarian website. Since 2015, Origo has been regularly criticised for its uncritical support of the Fidesz political party and regularly spreading fake news. Some critics describe the website as "state-run propaganda".

The 2020–21 Nemzeti Bajnokság I, also known as NB I, is the 122nd season of top-tier football in Hungary. The league was officially named OTP Bank Liga for sponsorship reasons. Ferencváros were the defending champions.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Ferenc Korom</span> Hungarian military officer

Ferenc Korom is a Hungarian military officer. He served as the Chief of the Hungarian Defence Forces from 2018 to 1 June 2021, when President János Áder dismissed him from the Chief of the HDF position. According to what the president said, Korom "fulfilled his duties with his best knowledge".

Zoltán Mihócza is a Hungarian senior military officer. Mihócza was the Chief of Staff of the General Staff of the Hungarian Defence Forces from 2019 to 2021, when János Áder the President of Hungary promoted Lt.Gen.Ferenc Korom, Brig.Gen. Gábor Böröndi and him to the vacant positions of the former General Staff.
