Municipal flags

The "Law on use of State Symbols of Kosovo" grants the municipalities of Kosovo the right to adopt and use their own distinctive flags. [3]

Podujevo or Besianë is a city and municipality in Pristina District in Kosovo. According to the 2011 census, the city of Podujevo has 23,453 inhabitants, while the municipality has 88,499 inhabitants. Podujevo is the largest municipality of Kosovo since it covers 633 km2 (244 sq mi) and is located along a regional motorway and also has railroad passing through it, which links the area to surrounding regions. Pristina, the capital of Kosovo, is located some 23 km (14 mi) to the south.

Local elections were held in Kosovo on 3 November 2013, with a second round on 1 December. These were the first elections which the Serbs of Northern Kosovo participated in since the Republic of Kosovo declared independence in 2008; polls were monitored by the OSCE. There were violent reactions in Serb-majority areas of northern Kosovo.

Fadil Nura is a politician in Kosovo. He was a member of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo from 2020 to 2021 and has been the mayor of Skenderaj since 2021. Nura is a member of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK).

Xhafer Tahiri is a politician in Kosovo. He served in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo from 2013 to 2014 and was the mayor of Vushtrri from 2017 to 2021. Tahiri is a member of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK).

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Bedri Hamza</span> Politician from Kosovo (born 1963)

Bedri Hamza is a politician and administrator in Kosovo. He has been the Republic of Kosovo's finance minister on two occasions, served three terms in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, was governor of the Central Bank of Kosovo from 2013 to 2017, and is the current mayor of South Mitrovica. Hamza is a prominent member of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK).

Local mayoral by-elections were held in the Kosovo municipalities of Leposavić, North Mitrovica, Zubin Potok, and Zvečan on 17 May 2019.

Muharrem Shabani is a politician in Kosovo. He served in the assembly of the Socialist Autonomous Province of Kosovo in 1989-90 and was a deputy speaker. He was prominent among a group of Albanian delegates that supported Kosovo becoming a republic within Yugoslavia and he played a key role in establishing a "parallel" assembly when the official parliament was shut down in July 1990. Shabani later served as the mayor of Vushtrri after the 1998–99 Kosovo War.

Ilir Ferati is a politician in Kosovo. He served in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo from 2019 to 2021 and has been the mayor of Istog since 2021. Ferati is a member of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK).

Sokol Bashota is a politician and former Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) leader in Kosovo. He served in the Assembly of Kosovo from 2004 to 2007 and was mayor of Klina from 2007 to 2017. Bashota is a member of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK).

Idriz Vehapi is an academic and politician in Kosovo. He was a minister in the Kosovo government from 2008 to 2010, served in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo from 2011 to 2013, and was mayor of Rahovec from 2013 to 2017. Vehapi is a member of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK).

Ali Berisha is a medical doctor and politician in Kosovo. He was the mayor of Peja from 2007 to 2013 and served two terms in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo between 2016 and 2021. Berisha is a member of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK).

Hajdar Beqa is a politician in Kosovo, currently serving his third term in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo. He is a member of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK).

Municipal elections to elect the mayor and Municipal Assembly were held in Prishtina on 17 October 2021, with a second round of the mayoral election on 14 November. The elections came just nine months after parliamentary elections which saw Vetëvendosje win by a landslide. Përparim Rama of the Democratic League of Kosovo won the mayoral election, narrowly defeating Vetëvendosje's Arben Vitia, the Minister of Health. by around 1,600 votes.

Rasim Selmanaj is a politician and writer in Kosovo. He was the mayor of Deçan from 2009 to 2017 and has served three terms in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo. A prominent youth leader in the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) during the 1990s, Selmanaj has been a member of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) since 2001.

The Republic of Kosovo oversaw local elections in three municipalities in 2010.

Smajl Latifi is a politician in Kosovo. He served in the Assembly of Kosovo from 2001 to 2004 as a member of the National Movement for the Liberation of Kosovo (LKÇK), which he later led from 2005 to 2008. He has been a member of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) since 2009 and is currently serving his third term as mayor of Rahovec.

Xhelal Canziba is a politician in Kosovo. He was active in Kosovo's parallel institutions in the 1990s and served in the Assembly of Kosovo from 2002 to 2007 as a member of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK).

Aqif Shehu is a former politician in Kosovo. He was a member of the parallel Republic of Kosova assembly in the 1990s and served as mayor of Gjakova from 2001 to 2007. For most of his time as an elected official, Shehu was a member of Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK).

Ali Lajçi is a politician in Kosovo. He was the mayor of Peja from 2001 to 2007 and has served in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo. At different times in his career, Lajçi has been a member of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), and Vetëvendosje (VV).
