Miss World 2014, the 64th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 14 December 2014 at the ExCeL London in London, United Kingdom. 121 contestants competed for the crown. Megan Young of the Philippines crowned her successor Rolene Strauss of South Africa at the end of the event. [1] This is the second time that South Africa has won the title outright and the third time they have held the title. [2]

Miss Honduras World 2014

In April 2014, María José Alvarado was crowned Miss Honduras World. She was expected to represent Honduras and was scheduled to fly to London, England for the Miss World pageant. On 19 November 2014, Alvarado and her sister Sofía Trinidad were found murdered and then buried in the village of Cablotales. [18] Miss Honduras pageant organizers decided not to replace Alvarado and the country officially withdrew from the contest. On 23 November 2014, Miss World Organization Chairperson Julia Morley gave a special memorial service in remembrance for her and her sister. [19] [20]

Miss World 2005, the 55th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 10 December 2005 at the Crown of Beauty Theatre in Sanya, China. María Julia Mantilla of Peru crowned her successor Unnur Birna Vilhjálmsdóttir of Iceland. 102 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown. All contestants competed in three "fast track" events, Beach Beauty, Miss Talent, and Beauty With a Purpose contests. The winner of each competition immediately became one of the fifteen pageant semi-finalists. She became the third Icelandic woman to win Miss World.

Megan Lynne Talde Young-Daez is a Filipino-American actress, model, tv host and beauty queen who won Miss World Philippines 2013 title and was later crowned as Miss World 2013. She is the first delegate from the Philippines to win the title of Miss World.

Miss South Africa is a national beauty pageant in South Africa that selects South African representatives to compete in one of the Big Four international beauty pageants Miss Universe, and also selects another representative to participate in Sub-major international pageant Miss Supranational. The Miss South Africa organisation resorted to a contemporary format in selecting representatives which was inaugurated in 2018. Following their newer method, both a Miss World South Africa and a Miss Universe South Africa were selected as representatives. From 2021 onwards, the winner of Miss South Africa will be competing in Miss Universe, and Miss Supranational. The current Miss South Africa 2023 is Natasha Joubert. On May 11, 2023, the Miss South Africa Organisation has lost its license as a Miss World licensee holder to Carol Bouwer Productions, which has taken over the license of Miss World South Africa pageant.

Miss World 1972 was the 22nd edition of the Miss World pageant, held at the Royal Albert Hall in London, UK on 1 December 1972 on BBC. Fifty-three delegates vied for the crown won by Belinda Green of Australia. Green became the second Australian winner of the crown in just four years. Since the reigning Miss World 1971 had suffered a broken arm and was unable to travel to London, Mrs. Julia Morley crowned the new Miss World 1972.

Melinda Bam is a South African TV host, model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss South Africa 2011, becoming the official representative of her country to Miss Universe 2012. She has a swimwear line called Bambshell, for which she worked with South African swimwear brand.

Marilyn Ramos is a South African designer, model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss South Africa 2012, becoming the official representative of her country to Miss Universe 2013 and Miss World 2013. Ramos represented South Africa at Miss World 2013 and Miss Universe 2013, failing to place in both competitions. She entered the pageant twice before she emerged the winner. She also held the title for the longest in SA pageant history- 16 months until she has crowned Rolene Strauss on 30 March 2014 as her successor.

Rolene Strauss is a South African beauty queen who won Miss South Africa 2014 and was later crowned Miss World 2014. She is the third South African woman to be crowned Miss World, after Penelope Anne Coelen in 1958 and Anneline Kriel in 1974.

The Miss Earth Zambia is a beauty pageant to select a delegate for Miss Earth pageant. The pageant is not related to the Miss Universe Zambia or Miss Zambia pageants.

Rolene Strauss of South Africa crowned her successor Mireia Lalaguna of Spain at the end of the event. It was the first time in the history of Miss World that Spain won the pageant.

Liesl Mthombeni (nee Laurie) (born 24 December 1990 in Johannesburg, South Africa) is a South African model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss South Africa 2015. She has represented her country at the Miss World 2015, in Sanya, China on 19 December 2015.

Miss Africa Great Britain is a beauty pageant open to African women resident in the United Kingdom. The winner becomes a goodwill ambassador for Miss Africa Great Britain, charged with designing and implementing a charity program based on her Pageant Platform.

Miss South Africa 2022, the 64th edition of the Miss South Africa pageant was held on Saturday, August 14 , 2022, at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria. Incumbent winner, Lalela Mswane of KwaZulu-Natal crowned Ndavi Nokeri of Limpopo as her successor. Nokeri will go on to represent South Africa at Miss Universe 2022 where she placed as Top 16.
