He made his full-time captaincy debut for New Zealand in the 2016 ICC World Twenty20 in India. He captained New Zealand national team in 2019 Cricket World Cup and led the team to the finals. The 2017 Blind World T20 also known as 2017 Blind T20 World Cup was a T20I tournament which was also the second edition of the Blind T20 World Cup for the blind cricketers held in India from 30 January to 12 February. India defeated Pakistan by 9 wickets in the finals to win their second ever Blind T20 World Cup. Ten teams such as hosts India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, England, Bangladesh, West Indies, South Africa, Nepal, Australia and New Zealand played in 48 matches. Each team had to play against all the teams which are competing for the title.
Masood Jan is a blind cricketer from Pakistan. He was part of the Pakistani team during the inaugural edition of the 1998 Blind Cricket World Cup. He recorded the highest individual score ever by a blind cricketer during the competition was 262 not out by Masood Jan (Pakistan) against South Africa at Roshanara Club on 19 Nov 1998.It still remains the highest score in the history of 40 Over Blind Cricket World Cup. In the 1998 Blind cricket World Cup final,he scored 146 for Pakistan and in the end Pakistan lost the finals to South Africa. Jan was also awarded the Best batsman of B3 category in the 1998 Blind Cricket World Cup.

Nepal blind cricket team made its first appearance in a Blind T20 World Cup tournament during the 2017 Blind T20 World Cup. In the 2017 Blind T20 World Cup, Nepal cricket team managed to beat South Africa and New Zealand.
