Seth Thibodeaux (born 1980) is an American baseball coach and former catcher. He currently is assistant coach for the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns. He played college baseball at LSU Eunice from 1999 to 2000 before transferring to William Carey, where he played for coach Bobby Halford from 2001 to 2002. He then served as the head coach of the Nicholls Colonels (2011–2021).

Coaching career

On August 1, 2007, Thibodeaux was named an assistant coach at Nicholls State. [1]

On August 18, 2010, Thibodeaux was promoted to head coach for the 2011 season. [2] [3] [4] On June 3, 2021, Thibodeaux resigned as the head coach of Nicholls. [5] On June 8, 2021, Thibodeaux joined the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns as assistant coach, under head coach Matt Deggs. [6]

The Nicholls Colonels baseball team is a varsity intercollegiate athletic team of Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana. The team is a member of the Southland Conference, which is part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I. Nicholls State's first baseball team was fielded in 1960. The team plays its home games at 2,100-seat Ben Meyer Diamond at Ray E. Didier Field and is coached by Mike Silva.

The Cajuns began the season with an away matchup against Big 12's Texas and concluded their regular season at conference and in-state rival Louisiana–Monroe.

The 2021 Nicholls Colonels baseball team represented Nicholls State University during the 2021 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Colonels played their home games at Ben Meyer Diamond at Ray E. Didier Field and were led by eleventh–year head coach Seth Thibodeaux. They were members of the Southland Conference. On June 2, 2021, following the conclusion of the 2021 season, Seth Thibodeaux resigned from his head coaching duties after amassing an overall record of 287–290 in his eleven seasons.

Michael Silva is an American baseball coach and former catcher, who is the current head baseball coach of the Nicholls Colonels. Silva has been a baseball coach in the South Central United States since 2003, after playing three years of college baseball at Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
