Springtime is an unincorporated community located in Stillwater County, Montana, United States at 45°41′53″N109°23′13″W / 45.698°N 109.387°W / 45.698; -109.387 .

The elevation is 3,665 feet. Springtime appears on the Springtime U.S. Geological Survey Map.

History

Springtime was an agricultural community in Stillwater County. Springtime is accessed from Exit 400 off Interstate 90, west of Columbus. Sited along the former Northern Pacific line (now Montana Rail Link), Springtime had a post office from 1916 to 1932. A few agricultural buildings are all that remain of Springtime today.

The Stillwater igneous complex is a large layered mafic intrusion (LMI) located in southern Montana in Stillwater, Sweet Grass and Park Counties. The complex is exposed across 30 miles (48 km) of the north flank of the Beartooth Mountain Range. The complex has extensive reserves of chromium ore and has a history of being mined for chromium. More recent mining activity has produced palladium and other platinum group elements.
