North Ice was a research station of the British North Greenland Expedition on the inland ice of Greenland. The coordinates of the station were 78°04′N38°29′W, at an altitude of 2,341 metres (7,680 ft) above sea level. The British North Greenland Expedition was led by Commander James Simpson RN. The station recorded a temperature of −66.1 °C (−87.0 °F) on 9 January 1954, which made it the lowest temperature ever recorded in North America up until that time. It was superseded by an observation of −69.6 °C (−93.3 °F) at the Greenland Ice Sheet on 22 December 1991. The name of the station contrasts to the former British South Ice station in Antarctica.
University Hall was an 8,457-seat multi-purpose arena on the University of Virginia Grounds in Charlottesville, Virginia. The arena opened in 1965 as a replacement for Memorial Gym; it was demolished on May 25, 2019, with Ralph Sampson leading the demolition. Like many arenas built at the time, the arena was circular, with a ribbed concrete roof and blue and orange seats that surrounded the arena. Unlike many other facilities, however, the floor was never lowered for additional seating around the court, which left large areas behind press row, the team benches, and the announcer's table empty during games.

Upsilon Capricorni, Latinized from υ Capricorni, is a solitary star in the southern constellation of Capricornus. It has a reddish hue and is dimly visible to the naked eye with an apparent visual magnitude of 5.17. The star is about 730 light years from the Sun based on parallax, but is drifting closer with a radial velocity of −12 km/s. It is 0.22 degree north of the ecliptic, so is subject to lunar occultations.

Taihang Tunnel is the third-longest mountain railway tunnel in northern China, after the New Guanjiao and West Qinling tunnels. It is a double track tunnel that was built to allow the Shijiazhuang–Taiyuan high-speed railway to cross the Taihang Mountains. The left track is 27,839 m (17.298 mi) long and the right one is 27,848 m (17.304 mi) long. Construction on the tunnel began on 11 June 2005 and the tunnel was opened on 22 December 2007.
