Oliver Stanley Murs is an English singer, songwriter, and television personality. He rose to prominence after participating on the sixth series of the television talent show The X Factor in 2009, where he finished as runner-up. Following the show, Murs was signed to RCA Records and Sony Music in the United Kingdom, and Columbia Records in the United States.

Let It Shine was a British reality television music competition to find young men to star in The Band, a new stage musical featuring the songs of Take That. It aired in January and February 2017 on BBC One. In 2018, the BBC announced that Let It Shine has been cancelled after one series.

As Aleks Josh, he took part in The Voice UK in its first series in March–May 2012. In 2018, he returned auditioning for Britain's Got Talent, using his real name.
