"(And The) Pictures in the Sky" is a song and single by the British band, Medicine Head. It was written by band member, John Fiddler.^[1]

In the music industry, a single is a type of release, typically a song recording of fewer tracks than an LP record or an album. Medicine Head was a British blues rock band – initially a duo – active in the 1970s. Their biggest single success was in 1973, with "One and One Is One,” a Number 3-hit on the UK Singles Chart. The group recorded six original albums; the opening trio of which were on John Peel's Dandelion label.

The first hit single for Medicine Head, it was released in 1971 and entered the UK Singles Chart in June, reaching number 22 in July.^[2]^[3]

The rules have changed many times as technology has developed, the most notable being the inclusion of digital downloads in 2005 and streaming in July 2014.
