Ídolos Brazil 4 (also known as Ídolos 2009) was the fourth season of Brazilian reality interactive talent show Ídolos (second aired on Rede Record), which premiered August 18, 2009 with the season finale airing on December 16, 2009.
Rodrigo Faro returned as a host from last year and the judging panel again consists of Luís Calainho, Paula Lima and Marco Camargo.
Saulo Roston won the competition with Diego Moraes as the first runner-up and Hélen Lyu finishing third. [1]

The first day of Theater Week featured the eighty-six contestants from the auditions round. Divided into groups, the contestants go up on stage and individually sing a song a capella. Sixty-seven advanced.
The sixty-seven remaining contestants were divided in groups of four or three. They had to pick a song and sing accompanied by a soundtrack. Forty-eight advanced.
The forty-eight remaining contestants had to choose a music and singing accompanied by a band and can also play an instrument. The contestants were divided into three rooms: square, circle and triangle. The twelve contestants on the square room were eliminated, while the twelve contestants on the circle room advanced to the semifinals.
The twenty-four remaining contestants who were in the triangle room knew that had not been defined a unanimous verdict for them. In the end, the judges take the contestants in pairs and tell them if they made the final twenty-four.
The twenty-four semifinalists were split by gender into two groups. Each contestant would then sing in their respective group's night. The top six contestants from each group made it to the finals. The guys performed on September 29, 2009 and the girls on October 7, 2009, with results show on the following night.

Pop Idol is a British music competition television series created by Simon Fuller which ran on ITV from 2001 to 2003. The aim of the show was to decide the best new young pop singer in the UK based on viewer voting and participation. Two series were broadcast, one in 2001–2002 and a second in 2003. An immense success when it launched in 2001, Maggie Brown in The Guardian wrote, "the show became a seminal reality/entertainment format once on air that autumn". Series judge Simon Cowell became a major public figure in entertainment, and the show produced instant No. 1 chart hits, including for the first series winner Will Young, whose single "Evergreen" was the fastest-selling debut in UK chart history and the best-selling song of 2002. Pop Idol was subsequently put on an indefinite hiatus after Simon Cowell announced the launch of The X Factor in the UK in April 2004.
Idols was a television show on the Dutch television network RTL 4, which is part of the Idols series based on the popular British show Pop Idol. The show is a contest to determine the best young singer in the Netherlands.

One in a Million is Malaysia's first ever reality singing competition to offer a RM 1 million prize to the winner. The second season began on 16 November 2007, resuming to its former timeslot at 9:30 pm on 8TV. The season had been marred by a restriction imposed on 8TV against airing live telecasts, as a result of season one's runner-up Faizal Tahir breaching the decency code during 8TV's birthday concert on mid-January 2008. Nevertheless, the show went on and on 29 February 2008, in a Grand Finale which was aired delayed by 30 minutes from Shah Alam, Sabahan Norayu Damit became the overall champion and new owner of RM1,000,000 as funding for a musical career.

The Sing-Off was an American television singing competition featuring a cappella groups. It debuted on NBC on December 14, 2009, and was produced by Sony Pictures Television and Outlaw Productions, with Mark Burnett's One Three Media being added for the fourth season. A fifth season aired as a holiday special in December 2014.

The first season of X Factor premiered on 6 March 2011 at 20:00 on TVN. The auditions for this season were held in January and February. Jarosław Kuźniar hosts the show and the judges are Czesław Mozil, Maja Sablewska and Kuba Wojewódzki. The series was won by Gienek Loska who was mentored by Czesław Mozil. The second place was taken by Michał Szpak and the third finalist was Ada Szulc.

Holos Krainy is a Ukrainian reality talent show that premiered on the 1+1 network on 22 May 2011. Holos Krainy is part of the international syndication The Voice based on the reality singing competition launched in the Netherlands as The Voice of Holland, created by Dutch television producer John de Mol. It was the second international adaptation of the programme, after the American version. There is also a children version of the same show, Holos. Dity.
The first season of Idol Puerto Rico premiered on August 7, 2011 and continued until November 21, 2011. It was won by Christian Pagán. The season was hosted by Jaime Augusto Mayol. The winner, Christian Pagán, signed with Universal Music Group, the label in partnership with Idol Puerto Rico, and has released two albums.
SuperStar Search Slovakia is a casting television show based on the popular British show Pop Idol. The show is a contest to determine the best young singer in Slovakia. It was broadcast by the national TV network STV in the late 2004 and early 2005. The first season premiered on October 29, 2004, and concluded on April 15, 2005. The main show was aired on Fridays, the accompanying SuperStar Search Slovakia Magazine was broadcast on Tuesdays and Thursdays, premiering on December 14, 2004.
The first season of The Final 1 premiered on MediaCorp Channel 5 on 24 April 2013. It is a Singaporean reality-singing competition programme created by the director of Hype Records Ken Lim. The judges were singer-songwriter Taufik Batisah, singer-actress Kit Chan and Ken Lim. Fly Entertainment artiste Vanessa Vanderstraaten was employed as the host of the show. Class 95FM radio personality Mike Kasem later joined the show as the second host, and hosted the finals together with Vanderstraaten.
Israel participated in and won the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. The Israeli broadcaster Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation (IPBC/Kan) collaborated with the commercial broadcaster Keshet and Tedy Productions, which organised the reality singing competition HaKokhav HaBa L'Eurovizion to select the singer. The winner of the Israeli national selection was Netta Barzilai, and a committee of the Israeli broadcaster internally selected the song "Toy" for her.
Israel was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with the song "Home", written by Ohad Shragai and Inbar Weitzman, and performed by Kobi Marimi. The Israeli participating broadcaster, the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation (IPBC/Kan), organised in collaboration with the commercial broadcaster Keshet and Tedy Productions the reality singing competition HaKokhav HaBa L'Eurovizion to select its performer for the contest. In addition, IPBC/Kan was also the host broadcaster and staged the event at the Expo Tel Aviv in Tel Aviv, after winning the previous edition with the song "Toy" performed by Netta.
The second season of the reality singing television competition Idol Philippines aired on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, and TV5 from June 25 to September 18, 2022. It replaced My Papa Pi and Pinoy Big Brother: Kumunity Season 10 and was succeeded by the second season of Everybody, Sing!. This was the first season not to air on ABS-CBN after the network was ordered by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) and Solicitor General Jose Calida to cease its free-to-air television and radio broadcast operations on May 5, 2020, following the expiration of its congressional franchise.
