Since its formation, the label has signed and released projects for artists including Sjava himself, Yallunder, Nue Sam, Anzo, Mzukulu.

History

1020 Cartel was formed in 2019 by Ruff and Sjava.

Labels first project iSambulo compilation studio by signee Sjava, Nue Sam, Mzukulu, Anzo, and Yallunder was released on August 28, 2020. [2] [3] [4]

On December 4, 2020, extended play Umsebenzi, was released, upon its release it debuted number 1 on South African albums chart and surpassed 5 million digital streams. [5]

Jabulani Hadebe, known professionally as Sjava, is a South African singer, rapper, and actor. He began his acting career in 2005, starring in several drama series and films including uGugu no Andile (2009). He then rose to prominence on the drama series Zone 14, where he starred for three consecutive seasons, Isibaya and the second season of eHostela. Sjava ventured into the music industry and signed to record label Ambitiouz Entertainment. He gained mainstream popularity after he was featured on Miss Pru's acclaimed song "Ameni" in 2015.

Sanele Tresure Sithole, known professionally as Sun-El Musician, is a South African disc jockey, music producer, and songwriter. Inkabi Zezwe is a South African duo composed of Sjava and Big Zulu formed in 2022. Their debut single "Umbayimbayi", charted number 1 and certified 3× Platinum in South Africa.

"Amakhehla" is a song by South African singer-songwriter and rapper Sjava, uDumakahle, Anzo featuring Vernotile from his third studio album, Isibuko (2023). It was written by Jabulani Hadebe, Anzo, and uDumakahle with production handled by Ruff. It was certified Platinum in South Africa.
