13i (or Canal 13 Internacional) is a Chilean pay television channel, that was launched as Canal 13's international broadcasting service.

History

Its programming consists of direct live broadcasts from channel 13 of Santiago, with additional news bulletins and programmes especially produced for the international feed.

From 1995 until 2001, Canal 13 has an international channel, called UCTV Chile, which was rebranded as 13i on 30 June 2014, available as both a pay television channel and a subscription-based online livestream.

TVN's public mission determines the obligation to promote the national cultural identity, the values of democracy, human rights, care for the environment and respect for diversity. Furthermore, Televisión Nacional governs the programming of its services according to criteria established by the National Television Council (CNTV).

Canal 13 is a Chilean free-to-air television channel. It was launched on 21 August 1959, on VHF channel 2 of Santiago, in a broadcast led by a group of engineers from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Subsequently, the TV station moved its frequency to VHF channel 13, which gave rise to its current name. In its beginnings, one of its most important milestones was the broadcast of the 1962 FIFA World Cup, held in Chile.

<i>La madrastra</i> (1981 TV series)

La Madrastra is a Chilean television soap opera created by Arturo Moya Grau, that aired on Canal 13 from April 21, to September 18, 1981, starring Jael Unger and Walter Kliche. The series, set in Los Angeles and Santiago between 1961 and 1981, depicts the memoirs of Marcia Espínola, an innocent woman accused of murder in America, twenty years later, she is freed from prison, returning to Chile for revenge, and to see her children as their stepmother. La Madrastra having achieved both wide acclaim and commercial success with 80% television ratings, became a significant part of 1980s Chilean popular culture.

1995 Chilean telethon

The 1995 Chilean telethon was the 13th version of the solidarity campaign held in Chile since 1978. The theme of this version was "Our great work." The event took place on 1–2 December 1995. The chosen poster boy for the campaign was Marcel Cáceres.

1998 Chilean telethon

The 1998 Chilean telethon was the 15th version of the solidarity campaign conducted in Chile. The theme of this version was "We All Matter." Happily surpassing the target, raising CL$ 6,029,912,577. the poster girl was Scarlett Barrientos. This edition was performed after 24 months without Telethon, because in December 1997 Chilean parliamentary elections were held.

Teletrece —also known as T13 or Tele 13— is the flagship daily evening television news programme of the chilean television channel Canal 13, 13.2, 13c, 13i and T13 Móvil. It is presented by journalists Ramón Ulloa and Mónica Pérez. First aired on 1 March 1970 it is currently the longest-running television programme and the second most watched national newscast in Chile.

Gervasio Musical artist

José Gervasio Viera Rodríguez, also simply known as Gervasio, was an Uruguayan singer who achieved popularity in Chile in 1983, when he won the international competition of the Viña del Mar International Song Festival, with the song "Alma, Corazón y Pan". One of Gervasio's most famous compositions is "Con Una Pala y Un Sombrero", which he wrote in honour of his father, who died of lung cancer.

<i>MasterChef Chile</i>

MasterChef Chile is a Chilean television competitive cooking show based on the original British MasterChef. It is presented by Diana Bolocco accompanied by French chef Yann Yvin, Chilean chef Christopher Carpentier, and Italian Chef Ennio Carota as the show's main judges. It is produced and broadcast on Canal 13. The first episode aired on 26 October 2014, and the series one finale was broadcast on 2 February 2015. The first winner was Daniela Castro, a 26-year-old artist.

<i>Preciosas</i>

Preciosas also known as Runaways, is a Chilean television series created by Catalina Calcagni, that aired on Canal 13 from August 1, 2016, to January 31, 2017, starring Loreto Aravena, Pablo Macaya, and Paulo Brunetti. The series follows a group of women convicts from a high security prison in Santiago, and the relationship between its members, when they escape from prison. With freedom they are confronted with never before faced adventures and challenges, including national persecution by police, while the media keep all Chile informed of their movements, then nicknaming the group as Preciosas.

2016 Chilean telethon

The 2016 Chilean telethon is the 28th version of the solidarity campaign to be held in Chile, which wants to raise funds for the rehabilitation of children with motor disabilities. It will be held from the Teatro Teletón from 22:00 on Friday, December 2 until 21:00 on Saturday, December 3 and from Julio Martínez National Stadium from 22:00 in its final stretch. The child symbol or "ambassador" of this edition is Vicente Jopia. Its slogan is El abrazo de Chile.
