The 158th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade (158 MEB) "Bushmasters" is a unit of the Arizona National Guard since September 1, 2010. The unit traces it lineage back to the 258th Infantry Brigade, the 153rd Artillery Brigade and the 158th Infantry Regiment.

The unit began as Cannon Company, 158th Infantry Regiment of the Arizona National Guard stationed in the Panama Canal Zone as part of the 45th Infantry Division in December 1942. [1] It was during their service in Panama they earned the nickname "Bushmasters." During World War II, the unit was sent to the Pacific Theater as part of the 41st Infantry Division, where they earned three Campaign Streamers: American Theater, New Guinea (with arrowhead), Luzon (with arrowhead) and a Philippine Presidential Unit Citation in 1945.
