16th FAI World Precision Flying Championship took place between July 19 - July 24, 2004 in Herning in Denmark, altogether with the 14th FAI World Rally Flying Championship (July 14-20).

The Fédération aéronautique internationale, is the world governing body for air sports. It was founded on 14 October 1905, and is headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland. It maintains world records for aeronautical activities including ballooning, aeromodeling, unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) and also for human spaceflight.

Poland republic in Central Europe

Poland, officially the Republic of Poland, is a country located in Central Europe. It is divided into 16 administrative subdivisions, covering an area of 312,696 square kilometres (120,733 sq mi), and has a largely temperate seasonal climate. With a population of approximately 38.5 million people, Poland is the sixth most populous member state of the European Union. Poland's capital and largest metropolis is Warsaw. Other major cities include Kraków, Łódź, Wrocław, Poznań, Gdańsk, and Szczecin.

The Czech Republic, also known by its short-form name, Czechia, is a landlocked country in Central Europe bordered by Germany to the west, Austria to the south, Slovakia to the east and Poland to the northeast. South Africa, officially the Republic of South Africa (RSA), is the southernmost country in Africa. It is bounded to the south by 2,798 kilometres (1,739 mi) of coastline of Southern Africa stretching along the South Atlantic and Indian Oceans; to the north by the neighbouring countries of Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe; and to the east and northeast by Mozambique and Eswatini (Swaziland); and it surrounds the enclaved country of Lesotho. The remaining population consists of Africa's largest communities of European (White), Asian (Indian), and multiracial (Coloured) ancestry.

Most numerous airplane was Cessna 150 (27), then Cessna 152 (23), Cessna 172 (10). There were also two Glastar and Zlin Z-43's, single 3Xtrim, PZL Wilga 2000, Robin, Ikarus C42B, SAI KZ III, SOCATA Rallye.

The Cessna 172 Skyhawk is an American four-seat, single-engine, high wing, fixed-wing aircraft made by the Cessna Aircraft Company. First flown in 1955, more 172s have been built than any other aircraft.

Contest

On the July 19, 2004 there was an opening ceremony, on the next day an opening briefing and official practice.

On July 21 there was the first navigation competition, in which the first two places were taken by the Poles: Krzysztof Wieczorek (6 penalty points) and Marek Kachaniak (32 pts), the third by the Czech Petr Opat (33 pts).

On July 22 there was landings competition, won by Nathalie Strube (FRA, 4 pts) and Michał Bartler (POL, 4 pts), the third was Harri Vähämaa (FIN, 12 pts), all flying Cessna 152s. Krzysztof Wieczorek remained the leader in overall classification.

On July 23 there was the last, second navigation competition, in which the first three places were taken by the Poles: Krzysztof Wieczorek (24 pts), Wacław Wieczorek (Krzysztof's brother, 35 pts) and Zbigniew Chrząszcz ex aequo with Petr Opat (CZE, 41 pts).

On July 24 there was awards giving and closing ceremony.

Challenge International de Tourisme 1929 sports award

The Challenge 1929 was the first FAI International Tourist Plane Contest, that took place between August 4 and August 16, 1929 in Paris, France. Four Challenges, from 1929 to 1934, were major aviation events in pre-war Europe.

3Xtrim 3X55 Trener recreational and utility aircraft

The 3X55 Trener (Trainer) and 3X47 Ultra are a family of ultralight aircraft produced in Poland by the 3Xtrim Aircraft Factory. Both are two-seat, high-wing, strut-braced monoplanes with fixed tricycle undercarriage and available only as completed aircraft. There are also 450 Ultra and 495 Ultra Plus sub-variants of the 3X47 Ultra, with gross weights adjusted for national ultralight regulations.

CCC–Sprandi–Polkowice is a UCI Professional Continental cycling team based in Poland. Formerly CCC-Mat, the team became known as CCC-Polsat in 2002. In 2004 and 2005, the team was known as Hoop CCC-Polsat, reverting to CCC-Polsat in 2006. From 2007 to 2011, the team was known as CCC-Polsat-Polkowice (abbreviated to CCC-Polsat), and team kit colours are orange and black.

18th FAI World Precision Flying Championship took place between July 13 - July 19, 2008 in Ried im Innkreis in Austria, altogether with the 16th FAI World Rally Flying Championship.

Ladislav Bezák is a Czechoslovak aerobatic pilot, the first winner of the FAI World Aerobatic Championships in 1960, and first to win the Biancotto Trophy in 1965. In 1971, he defected by flying to West Germany. He loaded his wife and four sons into a two-seat Zlín Z 226 that took off in Prague and landed in Nuremberg, where all six were granted political asylum by West Germany.

Petr Kopfstein Czech acrobatic flyer

Petr Kopfstein is a Czech aerobatic pilot, representing the Czech Republic in flying aerobatics in an Unlimited category, and most recently a racer in the Master Class category of the Red Bull Air Race. He is the first winner of the Red Bull Air Race Challenger Cup. After his victory of the whole Challenger Cup in 2014, there were rumors about him moving to Masters; it became a reality for the 2016 season. Peter Besenyei and Paul Bonhomme departed from the series.

The 2018 World Helicopter Championship was the 16th World Helicopter Championship, held from 23 to 29 July 2018 near Minsk, Belarus. Competitions were organized by the Вelarusian Federation of Air Sports under the auspices of the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale.
