Stetson University is a private university with four colleges and schools located across the I-4 corridor in Central Florida with the primary undergraduate campus in DeLand.

Harold Leon Sebring, nicknamed Tom Sebring, was a Florida Supreme Court justice, and an American judge at one of the Subsequent Nuremberg Trials of German war criminals after World War II. Sebring was a native of Kansas and an alumnus of Kansas State Agricultural College. While Sebring attended law school at the University of Florida, he also served as the head coach of the Florida Gators football team that represented the university.
The Stetson Hatters baseball team represents Stetson University, which is located in DeLand, Florida. The Hatters are a NCAA Division I college baseball program that competes in the Atlantic Sun Conference. They began competing in Division I in 1972 and joined the Atlantic Sun Conference in 1986.
James Adger "Jack" Forsythe Jr., nicknamed "Pee Wee" Forsythe, was an American college football player and coach. Forsythe has an important place in the history of college athletics in the U.S. state of Florida as the first head coach of the team now known as the University of Florida Gators. He had previously been the last football coach at Florida State College, now Florida State University, before it was reorganized as a school for women.

The 1952 Tangerine Bowl was an American college football bowl game played after the 1951 season, on January 1, 1952, at the Tangerine Bowl stadium in Orlando, Florida. The Stetson Hatters with a record of 7–1–2 played the Arkansas State Indians with a record of 10–1. Stetson won by a score of 35–20.
The 1901 Iowa State Cyclones football team was an American football team that represented Iowa State College of Agricultural and Mechanic Arts as an independent during the 1901 college football season. In its first and only season under head coach Edgar M. Clinton, the team compiled a 2–6–2 record and was outscored by a total of 133 to 56. William Scholty was the team captain.
