The 1904-05 season was the edition III of the Liga Mexicana de Football Amateur Association. Orizaba left the league, Puebla AC joined the league and Mexico Cricket Club changed its name to San Pedro Golf Club.

Hugo Sánchez Márquez is a Mexican former professional footballer and manager, who played as a forward. A prolific goalscorer known for his spectacular strikes and volleys, he is widely regarded as the greatest Mexican footballer of all time, one of the best players of his generation, and one of the best strikers of all time. In 1999, the International Federation of Football History and Statistics voted Sánchez the 26th best footballer of the 20th century, and the best footballer from the CONCACAF region. In 2004, Sánchez was named in the FIFA 100 list of the world's greatest living players.
Club de Futbol Cruz Azul, commonly referred to as Cruz Azul, is a professional football club based in Mexico City, Mexico. It competes in the Liga MX, the top tier of Mexican football. Founded in 1927 in Jasso, Hidalgo, the club officially moved to Mexico City in 1971, where it had already registered a great presence and activity since its beginnings. Estadio Azteca, the nation's largest sports venue, served as their home venue until 1996, when they moved to the Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes, which was renamed Estadio Azul. After 22 years, the team returned to the Azteca following the conclusion of the 2017–18 Liga MX season. Its headquarters are in La Noria, a suburb within Xochimilco in the southern part of Mexico City.

Formed on July 19, 1902 and the first match was held on October 19. It was organized by the Asociación de Aficionados de México en la Liga de Football, with 5 participating teams that played each other once in a round-robin format.
The 1910-11 season was the edition IX of the Liga Mexicana de Football Amateur Association. The teams British Club and Popo Park merged into a single team called "British-Popo" and Club México joined the league.

However, Tigres México were expelled for not showing up in their last 3 matches and all their matches were annulled. While España FC and España Veracruz withdrew.
