Puebla Athletic Club was a Mexican sports club based in the city of Puebla. The club was mostly known for its football team, that played in the Liga Mexicana de Football Amateur Association from 1904 to 1907. Founded in 1892 as Puebla Football Club and then changed its name to Puebla Athletic Club in 1894.
The club was founded on December 10, 1892 by William R. Turnbull who decided to create a football Association club that same year and challenge clubs from Mexico City .Since there were no Clubs establish at the time in the capital those who practice the sports join forces to represent the city against Puebla . This game took place in Puebla city on February 7, 1894 in the old Velódromo Park .The match ended 2-0 in favor for Puebla A.C ,'The Two Republics states that the goals were scored by TR Phillips who went on to found Reforma AC, and Claude Butlin (the first highly trained athlete to migrate to Mexico). This match fuelled the interest in this new sport which was short lived being that cricket had become more popular and had become more organized with clubs popping in and around Mexico .
In 1902 the Club was invited to play in the newly created Primera Fuerza but do to the lack of football players they declined the invitation saying they would take it up in the future. During the late 1890s and early 1900s the club would mainly practice tennis, cricket and baseball. In 1904 Puebla would finally join the Primera Fuerza taking this time to better establish once again its football club.
In their first tournament in 1904–05 Puebla lost all games and didn't score a goal in the 8 matches played, therefore finishing last. In the 1905–06 season, the club struggled and managed to score its first and only goal in that tournament, finishing last with no wins, 1 draw and 7 losses, and 20 goals against.
For the 1906–07 season Puebla finished third with 3 wins, 3 losses and 2 draws for a total of 9 points with 8 goals scored and 6 against. This tournament was the club's last in the league mostly due to the lack of interest from the people of Puebla with the native Mexican crowd not supporting an English only football club.
The City of Puebla would not see Football for 8 years until 1915, [1] when the First Puebla FC (Became España de Puebla in 1916 after joying forces with Real Club España )by Spaniards living in Puebla. Due to the lack of opponents, having only one with neighboring town San Martín Texmelucan, the club would be forced to go Orizaba, Veracruz to find competition where they participated for a few years in the old "Liga Veracruzana de Fútbol". Another club was founded this time mostly by Mexican in 1917 under the name of "Reforma". Other clubs would soon be formed by French and German immigrants which only lasted a few years. It wasn't till 1944 –a year after the first professional football league was established in Mexico– that the city finally had a professional club Puebla FC which was founded on May 7, 1944.

Club de Fútbol Lobos de la Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla were a Mexican football club based in Puebla, Mexico. The club represented the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla. The club's history goes back to the early 1930s when it was known as Preparatoria, formed exclusively by players who attended the university. The club has played on and off since then. It was not until the 1990s when the club made a serious comeback after playing in the lower levels of Mexican football. In 2003, the club was awarded a spot in the Primera A, where the club played until promotion in 2017 to Liga MX. The club marked its home in the Estadio Universitario BUAP.
Club de Fútbol Pachuca is a Mexican professional football club based in Pachuca, Hidalgo, that plays in Liga MX, the top division of Mexican football. Founded in 1892 as Pachuca Football Club, then changed its name to Pachuca Athletic Club in 1895, and was refounded in 1960 under its current name. The club was founded by workers of the Mexican mining company called "Compañia Real del Monte y Pachuca", which had mostly British miners immigrants from Camborne and Redruth, who were the first to introduce football to Mexico. Nicknamed "Tuzos", it pays tribute and refers to the history and mining heritage of the club and the city of Pachuca. It was the first football club founded in Mexico, and was one of the founding members of the Liga Mexicana de Football Amateur Association, which was the first amateur football league created in Mexico.

Club Ángeles de Puebla was a football team that played in Mexican Primera División and in Primera División A, it had its home in the city of Puebla de Zaragoza in Mexico. The team was founded in the years 1984–85 after the purchase of the Club de Fútbol Oaxtepec franchise. This team did not have any success, but it was always provided with the support of the people. It was a hardened team that strained to a great extent in its stay in the Mexican Primera División. After the 1989–90 season, the franchise was sold and transferred to Torreón and was made into Santos. The club made a brief comeback in 1999, which ended in 2001.
British Football Club was a Mexican football club based in Mexico City, that played in the Liga Mexicana de Football Amateur Association from 1902 to 1913. Founded in 1901 under the name British Club, in the 1909–10 changed its name to British FC, then in the 1910–11 it merged with Popo Park FC and changed its name to British-Popo. Finally in the 1911–12, it changed its name again to British FC.

Asturias Football Club was a sports club based in Mexico City. Founded in 1918 as Club Asturias, the club played in the Liga Mexicana de Football Amateur Association (1919–1922), and also played in the Campeonato de Primera Fuerza/Liga Mayor (1922–1943). Asturias was one of the founding members of the Liga Mayor, the first professional league in Mexico, which it participated from 1943 to 1950.
Germania Fußball-Verein was a football club based in Mexico City, that played in the Liga Mexicana de Football Amateur Association and later participated in the Campeonato de Primera Fuerza/Liga Mayor from 1922 to 1933.
The 1920-21 season was the first divided into two leagues, the Liga Mexicana and Liga Nacional were played. After the expulsion of Tigres México from the league, España FC and España Veracruz withdrew in solidarity. España FC changed its name to "Real España" and decided to form their own league called Liga Nacional. Due to the separation of the leagues, both tournaments and champions were not recognized by the organizing body, which was the Asociación de Aficionados de México en la Liga de Football.
The 1921-22 season was the second edition divided into two leagues, the Liga Mexicana and Liga Nacional. As happened the previous year, both tournaments and champions were not recognized by the organizing body. It was the last season before the leagues merged to create the first football federation (Federación de Foot-ball Asociación) and its new league called Campeonato de Primera Fuerza.
Deportivo Neza also known as Coyotes is a Mexican football team. The club was founded in 1978 when the city of Ciudad Neza bought the Club de Fútbol Laguna franchise. The club has played in various leagues in Mexico. The club played from 1978 to 1988 in the first division before the club was sold and moved to Tamaulipas and renamed Correcaminos UAT. The club has recently made its comeback in the Tercera División de México where they play in group 5.
Club Deportivo Nacional is a Mexican football team founded in Guadalajara, Jalisco, México in 1916. The club won its first title in 1922, playing in the second division. It also won seven Liga Amateurs de Jalisco between the 1925–1926 and 1938–1939 seasons, which is the second most years won by a team, behind C.D. Guadalajara, who have won 13. The club has played in the most important leagues in the country and currently plays in the Liga TDP.
Campeonato de Primera Fuerza, later known as Liga Mayor, was an amateur football league founded by the first football governing body formed in Mexico after the merger of the Liga Mexicana and Liga Nacional, it was called Federación Mexicana de Football Asociación . Asturias FC won the inaugural season and CD Marte were the last champions. It had the total participation of 18 teams, of which only 2 teams played their matches outside of Mexico City. The league was held from 1922 to 1943, when the first true national and professional league was started.
The Club de Futbol Espana De Puebla was a Mexican club that was one of the pioneers of association football in the state and city of Puebla. The club was founded in 1915 as Puebla FC, by mostly Mexican natives and the Spaniard community. The club was one of the most successful of the amateur era in Puebla. The club would dissolve in the early 1940s when it merged with Asturias de Puebla, a few years before professional football was established in Mexico. History would have it that the club would return and form part of Puebla F.C., the same name the club was founded with in 1915.
