The 1908 Copa de Honor Cousenier was the final match to decide the winner of the Copa de Honor Cousenier, the 4th. edition of the international competition organised by the Argentine and Uruguayan Associations together. The final was contested by Uruguayan side Wanderers and Argentine team Quilmes. [1]

Contents

The match was held in the Estadio Gran Parque Central in Montevideo, on October 11, 1908. Wanderers beat Quilmes 2–0, winning its first Copa Cousenier trophy. [2] [3]

Abdón Porte was a Uruguayan footballer who played as defensive midfielder. Nicknamed El Indio he won many titles with his club Nacional, and also a Copa América with the Uruguay national team. He committed suicide on 5 March 1918, by shooting himself in the center of the field at Estadio Gran Parque Central, an incident still remembered by the sport community of Uruguay.

The 1920 Copa de Honor Cousenier was the 15° edition of this competition. It was contested by the champions of Copa de Honor Municipalidad de Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Copa de Honor (Uruguay).
