The 1956 Chinese National Olympic Football Trial was a tournament held by the Chinese National Sport Committee to select the football representatives for the 1956 Summer Olympics. The United Red Team defeated United White Team in the final match and won the ticket to Melbourne. [1]

The National Team was split into the United Red and White teams, with members mostly made of the Chinese Youth Team returning from studying in Hungary. The National Sport Committee also invited Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan to join Olympic trials, the invitation was denied by Taiwan, and Macau did not send a football team. [2]

In the opening match, Shanghai defeated Hong Kong with a 6-1 score. [3] Hong Kong withdrew from the tournament next day and lost to Bayi with 0-7 in a friendly. [4] Shanghai then lost to both the United Red and United White teams with the same 1-2 score. [5] [6] In the final match, United Red defeated United White 2-1. [7]

After the tournament, the United Red team was kept in Beijing and became the Beijing Football Team. [8] The United White team was disbanded as a result. As the players were professional players, the team was led to Tianjian to found the Tianjian Football Team. [9]

Meizhou Hakka Football Club, is a professional Chinese football club that currently participates in the China League One division under licence from the Chinese Football Association (CFA). The team is based in Wuhua County, Meizhou in the province of Guangdong and their home stadium is the 6,800 capacity Wuhua County Stadium. Their current majority shareholders are the Meizhou municipal government, Municipal Sports Bureau, Wei Real Estate Development Co Ltd and partners. The club was renamed Meizhou Wuhua Football Club according to Meizhou Daily. However, the original name was still used in official documents of CFA all the time.

2017 Chinese FA Super Cup

Chang'an Ford 2017 Chinese FA Super Cup was the 15th Chinese FA Super Cup, an annual football match contested by the winners of the previous season's Chinese Super League and FA Cup competitions. The match was played at Chongqing Olympic Sports Center on 25 February 2017, and contested by league and cup double winners Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao and league runners-up Jiangsu Suning. Guangzhou Evergrande won the match 1–0 with a goal from Alan Carvalho. It was Guangzhou Evergrande's third outright victory in the Chinese FA Super Cup, drawing level with Dalian Shide and Shanghai Shenhua.

The 2018 Ping An Chinese Football Association Super League was the 15th season since the establishment of the Chinese Super League. The league title sponsor was Ping An Insurance. Shanghai SIPG won their first top-tier league titles on 7 November 2018 after the 2–1 victory against Beijing Renhe, ending a historic run for Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao, who had won seven consecutive titles beginning with the 2011 season.

The 2019 Ping An Chinese Football Association Super League was the 16th season since the establishment of the Chinese Super League. The league title sponsor was Ping An Insurance. The season began on 1 March and ended on 1 December. Shanghai SIPG were the defending champions.
