The 1963 NAIA World Series was the seventh annual tournament hosted by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics to determine the national champion of baseball among its member colleges and universities in the United States and Canada. [1]
The tournament was played at Phil Welch Stadium in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Sam Houston State (27-8) defeated Grambling (28-4) in the championship series, 2–1, to win the Bearkats' first NAIA World Series.
Sam Houston State shortstop Jimmy Dodd was named tournament MVP.

The NAIA World Series is a double-elimination tournament, held since 1957, to determine the baseball champion of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Since 2000, the tournament has been held at Harris Field on the campus of Lewis–Clark State College (LCSC) in Lewiston, Idaho, having previously hosted from 1984 to 1991.
The UHV Jaguars are the athletic teams that represent of the University of Houston–Victoria, located in Victoria, Texas, in intercollegiate sports as a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), primarily competing in the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) since the 2015–16 academic year. The Houston Christian Huskies baseball team, known as the Houston Baptist Huskies until 2022, is a varsity intercollegiate athletic team of Houston Baptist University in Houston, Texas, United States.
