Industriales began to make a habit of Cuban National Series titles during the 1964-65 season, the fourth installment of Cuba's new post-revolutionary amateur baseball league. The team, representing Havana, won its third straight title.

The inaugural season of the Cuban National Series was won by Occidentales, composed largely of players from Pinar del Río.

The second season of the Cuban National Series was a display of parity, as three of the four teams were within one game of .500. Tied at the top were Industriales and Oriente, so they played a best-of-three tie-breaker to decide the title, resulting in the first of many titles for Industriales.

The 10th season of the Cuban National Series ended with Azucareros taking the title, finishing just ahead of a group including Habana, Granjeros and Industriales.

In the 13th season of the Cuban National Series, Habana won its second league title, finishing with a comfortable five-game cushion over Constructores.

The 14th Cuban National Series was won by Agricultores, a team from Havana, who finished just one game ahead of two other teams. The short season of 39 games coincided with the first Selective Series, a sort of domestic all-star league for Cuban baseball players. While the size of the league remained the same as during the prior season, half of the teams in the league changed.

The 17th season of the Cuban National Series saw Vegueros of Pinar del Río Province win the title, finishing with a slim lead over Industriales of Havana. The makeup of the league was directly influenced by the administrative restructuring of the provinces of Cuba. The league expanded from 14 to 18 teams, and the regular season increased from 39 to 51 games.

In the 19th season of the Cuban National Series, Santiago de Cuba won its first title, edging Villa Clara, Forestales, and Vegueros, each of which finished within two games of the champion. The league's 18 teams and 51-game schedule remained unchanged from the prior season.

The 20th Cuban National Series saw Vegueros, from Pinar del Río Province, win its second title, with Villa Clara and Citricultores each finishing three games behind. The 18 teams of the league, each with a 51-game schedule, remained unchanged from the prior season.

The 24th Cuban National Series saw Vegueros of Pinar del Río Province win the title, outdistancing Camagüey by seven games. The Vegueros roster included notable players Luis Casanova, Omar Ajete, and Omar Linares. Forestales, also from Pinar del Río, again finished atop the second division.

The silver jubilee 25th season of the Cuban National Series was the first to feature a scheduled postseason, as the first-place and second-place teams from each of the new Eastern and Western divisions qualified for a round-robin tournament to determine the league champion. The 18 teams in the league remained unchanged from recent seasons, but each team's regular-season schedule was reduced from 75 games to 48 games.

Villa Clara won its third straight Cuban National Series title during the 1994-95 season.

The 38th Cuban National Series saw Santiago de Cuba, which qualified for the playoffs, win three close series to take its first title in ten years.

The 26th Cuban National Series was the second season the league held a postseason round-robin tournament to determine a champion. The four teams that qualified were the same as in the prior season: Vegueros from Pinar del Río Province, Industriales of Havana, Santiago de Cuba, and Villa Clara. Vegueros captured the championship by winning five of their six postseason games. The league's 18 teams and 48-game regular-season schedule were unchanged from the prior season.

Vegueros, from Pinar del Río Province, repeated as champions in the playoffs of the 27th Cuban National Series. La Habana and Santiago de Cuba possessed stellar regular seasons in which they won 80% of their games. However, Vegueros, with an all-star lineup including Luis Giraldo Casanova and Omar Linares, prevailed in the playoffs.

In the 28th a season in which four Western zone teams had better records than any Eastern zone team, Santiago de Cuba, from the east, won its second title.

Henequeneros won the first of two straight Cuban National Series titles in 1990, defeating Santiago de Cuba, four games to two. Industriales took third place after defeating Granma. For the first time a playoff final between two teams were played. The playoff series' consisted of round-robin-games the previous years.

The 30th Cuban National Series ended with Henequeros winning its second straight title. La Habana, Camagüey and Santiago de Cuba also qualified for the playoffs.
