Administratively, Cuba is divided into 15 provinces and one special municipality. However during the legislature of 1976 Cuba had 6 provinces these being: Pinar del Rio, Havana, Oriente, Las Villas, Camagüey, and Matanzas, then 7 new provinces were created with the objective to manage better the resources in each region, however usually the Government excludes the new provinces and leave the original six when it comes to the Census and education for example the provinces of Mayabeque and Artemisa were part of the province of Havana and then separated and if people study in one of this provinces they do not have to change any sort of information because the students go off by the Havana school district. This is way the people in Cuba that are from the provinces of Guantánamo, Las Tunas or any other eastern province still nowadays say they are from Oriente. The last modification was approved in August 2010, splitting Havana province into two new provinces: Artemisa and Mayabeque. The new provinces started functioning from January 1, 2011. Havana City Province recovered its original name: La Habana.
Ciego de Ávila is a city in the central part of Cuba and the capital of Ciego de Ávila Province. The city has a population of about 156,322 and the province 430,616.
The Democratic Solidarity Party was a political liberal party in Cuba. Although changes to the Cuban constitution in 1992 decriminalized the right to form political parties other than the Communist Party of Cuba, these parties are not permitted to campaign or engage in any public political activities on the island. The Democratic Solidarity party described itself as "an organization from within Cuba promoting democracy and the respect for human rights by the peaceful route." The last President of the party was Fernando Sánchez López. The party was a full member of Liberal International.
Cuba was the first Latin American country to begin television testing in December 1946 when station CM-21P conducted an experimental multi-point live broadcast. The first regular commercial broadcasting began in October 1950 by the small radio station Union Radio, soon followed by other stations. The broadcasts featured sport, soap operas, news, cooking shows, and comedy. Censorship was imposed following the 1952 coup by Fulgencio Batista, and again by the government of the Cuban revolution after their victory in 1959.
Industriales is a professional baseball team in the Cuban National Series. Located in Cerro, La Habana, it is known as the only team representing the country’s capital, Havana. Industriales is historically the most successful team in the National Series, although they have played under other names throughout their history. The Super Classic of Cuban National Series takes place six times per season between Industriales and Santiago de Cuba, the Cuban equivalent of the New York Yankees–Boston Red Sox rivalry. The matchup also represents the rivalry between the two cities, dating back to the era when Cuba was a colony of Spain more than two centuries ago. They are known as the Lions, "The Blues" or "The Blue Lions". Royal blue is their color, though teams like Camagüey and Ciego de Ávila also have blue uniforms
Tigres de Ciego de Avila is a baseball team in the Cuban National Series. Based in Ciego de Ávila Province, the Tigres have spent most of its history in the bottom reaches of the standings.
The Cuban National Series is the primary domestic professional baseball competition in Cuba. Formed after the dissolution of the Cuban League in the wake of the Cuban Revolution, the Series is a part of the Cuban baseball league system.

He made his Major League Baseball (MLB) debut on March 28, 2012, for the Oakland Athletics, and has also played in MLB for the Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers and New York Mets. Primarily a left fielder in his early career, he split between left and center field on the Mets. A right-hand batter and fielder, he stands 5 feet 10 inches (1.78 m) tall and weighs 220 pounds (100 kg).
FC Ciego de Ávila is a Cuban football team playing in the Cuban National Football League and representing Ciego de Ávila Province. They play their home games at Sergio Alonso Grandal in Morón.
Juan de la Caridad García Rodríguez is a Cuban prelate of the Catholic Church who has served as Archbishop of Havana since 26 April 2016. He previously served as an Auxiliary Bishop of Camagüey from 1997 to 2002 and then as Archbishop of that diocese from 2002 to 2016. He is a past president of the Cuban Conference of Catholic Bishops. Pope Francis raised him to the rank of cardinal on 5 October 2019.

Carlos Martí is a Cuban baseball manager. He managed the Alazanes de Granma in the Cuban National Series and the Cuba national baseball team in the 2017 World Baseball Classic.
Roel Santos Martinez is a Cuban professional baseball outfielder for the Olmecas de Tabasco of the Mexican League and the Alazanes de Granma of the Cuban National Series. He previously played for the Chiba Lotte Marines of Nippon Professional Baseball in 2017.
The 2016–17 Cuban National Series was the 56th season of the league. Granma defeated Ciego de Ávila in the series' final round.
