John Robert Parker Ravenscroft, better known as John Peel, was an English radio presenter and journalist. He was the longest-serving of the original disc jockeys on BBC Radio 1, broadcasting regularly from 1967 until his death in 2004.
BBC Radio is an operational business division and service of the public service broadcast outlet British Broadcasting Corporation. The service provides national radio stations covering the majority of musical genres, as well as local radio stations covering local news, affairs and interests. The Perfumed Garden was the title given by John Peel to his 1967 late-night programme on the British pirate radio station, Radio London.
