The 1974–75 Swedish Division I season was the 31st and final season of Swedish Division I. It was replaced by the Elitserien for 1975–76. Leksands IF won the final Division I title by defeating Brynas IF in the final.

The Swedish Hockey League is a professional ice hockey league, and the highest division in the Swedish ice hockey system. The league currently consists of 14 teams. The league was founded in 1975, and while Swedish ice hockey champions have been crowned through various formats since 1922, the title and the Le Mat Trophy have been awarded to the winner of the SHL playoffs since the league's inaugural 1975–76 season.

Guldhjälmen comprises two Swedish annual ice hockey awards that recognize the most valuable player of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) and of the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL) as judged by each league's players, respectively. Huddinge IK, is a Swedish ice hockey team from Huddinge, a southern suburb in Stockholm County. The team is currently playing in the third highest league in Sweden, Hockeyettan. In the middle of the 1990s, a women's floorball section was founded, whose A-team advanced to Elitserien, the highest league, in 2008.

The 2011–12 Elitserien season was the 37th season of Elitserien. The regular season began on 13 September 2011 and ended on 6 March 2012. The following playoffs began on 10 March 2012 and ended on 19 April. Färjestad BK were the defending Swedish Champions. Brynäs IF won their first Swedish Championship title since 1999, as well as their 13th in history, after defeating Skellefteå AIK in six games.

The Swedish Ice Hockey Coach of the Year has been awarded to the best ice hockey coach in Sweden each season since the 1991–92 season. The award was created in honor of Arne Strömberg, and Kamratföreningen Hockeyjournalisterna is the jury which votes on the award. The award has usually gone to a coach in the top-tier league (SHL/Elitserien), although the award is not specific to the top-tier league.

The Swedish Ice Hockey Leader of the Year is an annual award given to the best ice hockey leader in Sweden each season. The award was first given in the 1991–92 season, and Kamratföreningen Hockeyjournalisterna is the jury which votes on the award. Swedish businessman Percy Nilsson gives out the award since 2006.

Patrik Norén is a Swedish professional ice hockey defenseman currently playing for Leksands IF in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL).

The 2019–20 SHL season was the 45th season of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). The regular season began in September 2019 and ended in March 2020; it was scheduled to be followed by the Swedish Championship playoffs and the relegation playoffs. The league consisted of 14 teams; Leksands IF returned to the SHL after two seasons in HockeyAllsvenskan, having defeated Mora IK in the 2019 SHL qualifiers. IK Oskarshamn played in the SHL for the first time in franchise history, after defeating Timrå IK in the SHL qualifiers.

The 2023–24 SHL season was the 49th season of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). The regular season began in September 2023 and ended in March 2024, where it was followed by the playoffs and the relegation playoffs.
