The 1980–81 Honduran Liga Nacional season was the 15th edition of the Honduran Liga Nacional. The format of the tournament remained the same as the previous season. Real C.D. España won the title after defeating C.D. Marathón in a 3-series final. [1] Both teams qualified to the 1981 CONCACAF Champions' Cup. Additionally, Real España, Marathón, Club Deportivo Olimpia and C.D.S. Vida obtained berths to the 1981 Copa Fraternidad.

Liga Nacional de Fútbol Profesional de Honduras association football league

Liga Nacional de Fútbol Profesional de Honduras, commonly known as Liga Nacional is the first and highest division of football in Honduras. The league season is divided into Opening (autumn) and Closing (spring). One team is relegated to the Liga de Ascenso and one team is promoted from Liga de Ascenso. The first 4 clubs participate in play-offs to decide the champion. The winners of the Opening and Closing competitions participate in the CONCACAF Champions League.

Victoria obtained berths to the 1980 Copa Fraternidad.

Real C.D. España association football club

Real Club Deportivo España, Real España, or simply España is a Honduran football club, which plays in the Liga Nacional de Honduras. With 12 championships, España is one of the most accomplished Honduran football clubs, and its popularity is recognized outside of Honduras' boundaries. Their title of Real was awarded by King Juan Carlos I in 1977. This is a unique distinction, as they are the only club outside of Spain to be so honored by the Spanish monarchy.
