TV Globo Brazilian television network

Diego Matias Hypólito is a Brazilian gymnast and the 2005 and 2007 World Champion on the floor exercise. He is the first male gymnast from Brazil, and South America, to win a medal at the World Championships. He also won 63 medals in World Cup. Hypólito has represented Brazil in three Olympics: 2008, 2012 and 2016. He received the silver medal in Floor at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. He is also the younger brother of Daniele Hypólito, the first Brazilian gymnast ever to medal at Worlds.

Brazil competed in 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada from July 10 to 26, 2015. The Brazilian Olympic Committee selected a team of 590 athletes, 314 men and 276 women. This is the 17th appearance of the country in the Pan American Games. The goal of the Brazilian Olympic Committee is to finish among top 3 countries on total medals, as part of preparations for the 2016 Summer Olympics, in Rio de Janeiro, and to surpass the number of medals of Guadalajara (141). Women’s field hockey, baseball, racquetball and speed skating competitions will be the only sports without Brazilian representation at these games.

Rebeca Andrade Brazilian artistic gymnast

Rebeca Rodrigues de Andrade is a Brazilian artistic gymnast and two-time Olympian, having represented Brazil at the 2016 and 2020 Olympic Games. She is the 2020 Olympic vault champion, the 2021 World vault champion, the 2020 Olympic all-around silver medalist, and the 2021 Pan American all-around champion. She was a member of the teams that won gold at the 2021 Pan American Championships and silver at the 2018 Pan American Championships. Andrade is the first Brazilian female artistic gymnast to medal at an Olympic Games and the first Olympic all-around medalist who qualified as an individual. She is only the second Brazilian female to win a gold medal at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships.

The 2005 Pan American Gymnastics Championships were held in Brazil. Artistic gymnastics events were competed in Rio de Janeiro, October 6–9, 2005, while rhythmic gymnastics events were held in Vitória, November 11–13, 2005.

The Pan American Gymnastics Union organizes Pan American Gymnastics Championships in different disciplines of gymnastics: men's and women's artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, acrobatic gymnastics, trampoline and tumbling, as well as aerobic gymnastics. The competition was organized by the Colombian Gymnastics Federation and approved by the International Gymnastics Federation.
