The 1981 Connecticut Huskies men's soccer team represented the University of Connecticut during the 1981 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. The Huskies won their first NCAA title, and second overall when including NSCAA championships. The Huskies were coached by Joe Morrone, in his thirteenth season. They played home games at Morrone Stadium. [1]

Joseph M. Morrone is a former U.S. soccer midfielder who is the son of soccer coach Joe Morrone, Joseph J. Morrone Jr. While playing for the UConn Huskies, he won the 1980 Hermann Trophy as the top collegiate player of the year and the 1981 North American Soccer League Rookie of the Year. At the time, Morrone was the most decorated athlete in the University of Connecticut's history.

Elvis Comrie is an English-American former football player and coach. A forward, he played three seasons in the North American Soccer League, one in Major Indoor Soccer League, one in the American Indoor Soccer Association, two in the American Soccer League and one in the American Professional Soccer League. Comrie earned four caps with the U.S. national team in 1984. Comrie worked briefly as a stockbroker and was formerly a college soccer coach, primarily at Holy Cross. He was also the head coach of the Worcester Hydra of the USL Premier Development League in 2012.

Joseph John Morrone Jr was an American head men's collegiate soccer coach. He is the father of former soccer midfielder Joseph "Joe" M. Morrone He coached soccer at the University of Connecticut from 1969 to 1996 and is credited with transforming UConn's struggling soccer program into one of the nation's best. Morrone won the 1981 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship at UConn. From 1981 to 1983, his teams reached the Final Four three times. His teams reached the NCAA tournament 16 out of the past 18 years he coached there.

The 1943–1945 seasons were canceled due to World War II so the only season during that time that the Huskies played without Squires was 1942, when they were coached by Carl Fischer. Joe Morrone took over for Squires beginning in 1969.

He has led UConn to one NCAA Division I national championship, eight Big East regular season championships and four Big East tournament championships. Before coming to UConn, he was the head coach at Southern Connecticut State University, leading the team to three NCAA Division II national championships in eight seasons. Reid leads all coaches in the nation in winning percentage (.769) and has won four NSCAA Coach of the Year awards.

Burrill Family Field at Connecticut Softball Stadium is the home field of the Connecticut Huskies softball team of the University of Connecticut. The stadium was located along Jim Calhoun Way, on the university's Storrs, Connecticut campus, adjacent to J. O. Christian Field and across from Morrone Stadium and the Burton Family Football Complex. The field is named for the Burrill Family, five of whom are UConn alums.

The 2016 American Athletic Conference women's soccer tournament is the postseason women's soccer tournament for the American Athletic Conference held from November 2 to 6, 2016. The five match tournament was held at Morrone Stadium, home field of the regular season champion Connecticut Huskies in Storrs, Connecticut. The six team single-elimination tournament consists of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The Cincinnati Bearcats were the defending tournament champions, after defeating the USF Bulls in a penalty kick shootout in the championship match the previous year.

The Northern Illinois Huskies men's soccer team is the college soccer team that represents Northern Illinois University (NIU) in DeKalb, Illinois, United States. The school's team competed in NIU's full-time home of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) through the 2022 season, after which the conference stopped sponsoring men's soccer. NIU moved that sport to the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) effective with the 2023 season, joining fellow MAC members Bowling Green and Western Michigan in this move. NIU men's soccer started playing in 1962 and has appeared in the NCAA Tournament four times. The Huskies are coached by Ryan Swan.

The tournament decided the American Athletic Conference champion and guaranteed representative into the 2014 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship. First round matchups were held at campus sites on Saturday, November 8, while the semifinals were played at Morrone Stadium on the campus of Connecticut in Storrs, Connecticut.
