The 1983 Kilkenny Intermediate Hurling Championship was the 19th staging of the Kilkenny Intermediate Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Kilkenny County Board.

The final was played on 2 October 1983 at Nowlan Park in Kilkenny, between Thomastown and O'Loughlin Gaels, in what was their first ever meeting in the final. [1] Thomastown won the match by 2–08 to 1–03 to claim their first ever championship title. [2] [3]
