The 1987 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championships were the sixth annual championships to determine the national champions of NCAA Division I women's singles, doubles, and team collegiate tennis in the United States. This year's tournaments were held in Los Angeles, California, hosted by the University of California, Los Angeles. [1]
The women's team championship was won by Stanford, their third, and second consecutive, team national title. The Cardinal defeated Georgia in the final round, 5–1.
Stanford's Patty Fendick repeated as the women's singles national champion, the first to accomplish this feat. It would not happen again until Lisa Raymond won back-to-back titles in 1992 and 1993.
The women's doubles title was won by Katrina Adams and Diane Donnelly from Northwestern.
The tournaments were hosted by the University of California, Los Angeles at the Los Angeles Tennis Center in Los Angeles, California. The men's and women's tournaments would not be held at the same site until 2006.

The Florida Gators women's tennis team represents the University of Florida in the sport of tennis. The Gators compete in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) and the Southeastern Conference (SEC). They play their home matches in Linder Stadium on the university's Gainesville, Florida, campus, and are currently led by head coach Roland Thornqvist. In the thirty-nine-year history of the Gators women's tennis program, the team has won twenty-five SEC championships and seven NCAA national tournament championships.
The NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championship is an annual men's college tennis national collegiate championship sponsored by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) for teams in Division I. The tournament crowns a team, individual, and doubles champion. The first intercollegiate championship was held in 1883, 23 years before the founding of the NCAA, with Harvard's Joseph Clark taking the singles title.
