Since his debut in 1992, Kim has released 13 full-length albums and has won numerous awards, including Album of the Year at the Golden Disc Awards for three consecutive years from 1994 to 1996. In 2011, he received a presidential commendation from the South Korean government for his contributions to popular culture.

Lee Seung-chul is a South Korean singer best known for the hit songs, "My Love", "Never Ending Story", and "Girls' Generation". Currently an artist of Kakao Entertainment's label Flex M, he debuted in 1985 as the vocalist of the rock band Boohwal, which he left in 1989 to release his first solo album, Don't Say Good-Bye. He has released 12 Korean studio albums in total. He is also active in Japan, where he is known by the stage name Rui.

Lim Chang-jung is a South Korean singer-songwriter and actor. He is often referred by Koreans as "the original multi-entertainer" for being active in all three fields: music, film and entertainment. He made his acting debut in 1990 and his singing debut in 1995. Im has since released 17 full-length albums and is known for his hit songs that are vocally challenging to sing. He is the only artist in South Korea who has songs that reached number one on the local music charts in the 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s. He was selected as Singer of the Year and his song "The Love I Committed" was selected as Song of the Year in the surveys conducted by Gallup Korea in 2016.

Girls' Generation is a South Korean song sung by several artists. The song was originally sung by Lee Seung-chul in 1989, released on his self-titled album Lee Seung-chul: Part 2. It was covered by Maya in 2005 and girl group Girls' Generation in 2007, whose band name is derived from the song's. Gil Hak-mi also performed the song at Superstar K in 2009 and it was released on Love which contains songs by the first Superstar K Top 10.

Rock, Rock, Rock is a 2010 South Korean miniseries produced by KBS about the life of Boohwal founder and rock musician Kim Tae-won, played by No Min-woo. The four-episode musical drama follows Kim's life from middle school to 2003.
