The 1991 World Indoor Target Archery Championships were held in Oulu, Finland. It was the first ever World Indoor Championship. [1] [2] [3]

Oulu City in North Ostrobothnia, Finland

Oulu is a city and municipality of 202,753 inhabitants in the region of North Ostrobothnia, Finland. It is the most populous city in Northern Finland and the fifth most populous city in the country. There are no larger cities in the world, apart from Murmansk Russia, that are more northerly than Oulu. It is also considered one of Europe's "living labs", where residents experiment with new technology at a community-wide scale.

Ryan Tyack is an Australian archer competing in men's recurve events at the 2016 Summer Olympics. He earned a gold medal at the 2006 Junior World Outdoor Target Championships in the male recurve cadet event. He also won a gold at the 2008 World Youth Archery Championships in the men's under-18 event. He was named to the Australian archery shadow Olympic squad for the 2012 Summer Olympics, and won the individual competition at the 2014 World Indoor Archery Championships.

2012 World Indoor Archery Championships

The 2012 World Indoor Target Archery Championships was the 11th edition of the World Indoor Archery Championships. The event was held in Las Vegas, United States from February 5 to February 9, 2012 and was organized by International Archery Federation (FITA). The event was contested at the South Point Hotel, and the event was followed by the World Archery Festival and the finals of the second Indoor Archery World Cup.


Sébastien Peineau is a French compound archer. His best World Archery ranking is 1st place. He won the bronze medal at the 2011 Archery European Indoor Championships in the men's team event.

Ankita Bhakat is an Indian recurve archer who is currently ranked world number 51 by the World Archery Federation. She is a member of the Indian national recurve team and competes in international events in the women's individual, women's team and the mixed team recurve categories. She competed in the 2017 World Archery Youth Championships held at Rosario, Argentina and won the gold medal in the recurve junior mixed team event with partner Jemson Singh Ningthoujam.
