The 2005 World Indoor Target Archery Championships were held in Aalborg, Denmark from 22–28 March 2005. [1] [2]

Aalborg, is Denmark's fourth largest city with an urban population of 136,000, including 22,000 in the twin city Nørresundby 600 metres (2,000 ft) across the Limfjord. With a population of 215,379, the Municipality of Aalborg is the third most populous in the country after Copenhagen and Aarhus. By road Aalborg is 64 kilometres (40 mi) southwest of Frederikshavn, and 118 kilometres (73 mi) north of Aarhus. The distance to Copenhagen is 412 kilometres (256 mi).

Denmark constitutional monarchy in Europe

Denmark, officially the Kingdom of Denmark, is a Nordic country and the southernmost of the Scandinavian nations. Denmark lies southwest of Sweden and south of Norway, and is bordered to the south by Germany. Archery at the Summer Olympics

Archery had its debut at the 1900 Summer Olympics and has been contested in 16 Olympiads. Eighty-four nations have competed in the Olympic archery events, with France appearing the most often at 31 times. The most noticeable trend has been the excellence of South Korean archers, who have won 23 out of 34 gold medals in events since 1984. It is governed by the World Archery Federation. Recurve archery is the only discipline of archery featured at the Olympic Games. Archery is also an event at the Summer Paralympics.

The World Archery Federation is the governing body of the sport of archery. It is based in Lausanne, Switzerland. It is composed of 156 national federations and other archery associations, and is recognised by the International Olympic Committee.

2005 World Games

The 2005 World Games, the seventh World Games, were an international multi-sport event held in Duisburg, Germany from 14 July 2005 until 24 July 2005. Three cities namely Bottrop, Mülheim an der Ruhr, and Oberhausen, also held some of the competition events. More than 3,000 athletes competed in 39 non-Olympic sports.

The World Archery Championships are a series of competitions in Archery organised by the World Archery Federation (WA).They first competition held under that title took place in 1931.

Archery World Cup

The Archery World Cup is a competition, started in 2006, organized by the World Archery Federation, where the archers compete in four different stages in four different countries and the best eight archers of each category advance to an additional stage to contest the Archery World Cup Final. This form of competition was introduced following the success of the 2003 World Archery Championships in New York and the 2004 Summer Olympics with the intent of making the sport more popular and attractive to spectators, with the matches being held in 'spectacular' locations and the final matches being broadcast online. It has received plaudits for its innovative approach to the sport, raising its profile and reach.

Deepika Kumari Indian archer

Deepika Kumari is an Indian athlete who competes in the event of archery, is currently ranked World No. 5, and is a former world number one. She won a gold medal in the 2010 Commonwealth games in the women's individual recurve event. She also won a gold medal in the same competition in the women's team recurve event along with Dola Banerjee and Bombayala Devi.

Chekrovolu Swuro is an Indian archer. She represented India in archery in the 2002 Asian Games and 2006 Asian Games held at Busan, South Korea and Doha, Qatar respectively. By winning a silver medal in the team event at the 2011 World Archery Championships in Turin she qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics in both women's individual and team archery.

The Turkish organization is member of the European and Mediterranean Archery Union (EMAU) and the World Archery Federation (WAF). 2013 World Archery Championships 47th edition of the World Archery Championships

The 2013 World Archery Championships was the 47th edition of the World Archery Championships. The event was held in Belek in the Antalya Province of Turkey from September 29 to October 6, 2013, and was organised by World Archery (FITA). It will be immediately preceded by the 50th World Archery congress in the same location. Qualification and elimination rounds took place at the Papillon Sports Centre in nearby Kadriye, with the medal matches on 5–6 October on the beach of Belek.

The 2005 World Archery Championships was the 43rd edition of the World Archery Championships. The event was held in Madrid from 20-26 June 2005 and was organized by World Archery Federation (FITA).

The World Archery Rankings is a ranking system developed by the World Archery Federation for international competitive archery. It is calculated using a points system and published following major World Archery tournaments.
