The 1992 Oceanian Futsal Championship (OFC) was the first edition of the main international futsal tournament of the Oceanian region. It took place from Jun 15 to Jun 20, 1992, and was hosted by Brisbane, Australia.

Contents

The tournament also acted as a qualifying tournament for the 1992 FIFA Futsal World Championship in Hong Kong. Australia won the tournament, and qualified for the World Cup.

The 2009 OFC Futsal Championship was the sixth edition of the main international futsal tournament of the Oceanian region. It took place from July 7 to July 11, 2009, and was hosted by Fiji, which had also hosted the previous edition. The number of participating teams dropped from seven to just four, as French Polynesia, New Zealand and Tuvalu failed to return from the previous year's competition. Previously, the Championship had been held every four years; the 2009 edition marked the beginning of an annual tournament.

2009 FIBA Oceania Championship

The FIBA Oceania Championship for Men 2009 was the qualifying tournament of FIBA Oceania for the 2010 FIBA World Championship in Turkey. For the first time, the tournament featured a best-of-two, home-and-away series between Australia and New Zealand. Game one was held in Sydney, New South Wales followed by the second game in Wellington. The two countries split the series, and the tiebreaker, which was won by New Zealand, was the aggregate score. This was New Zealand's second title in an Oceania tournament contested by Australia and third title overall. Australia and New Zealand both qualified for the 2010 FIBA World Championship.

New Zealand national futsal team

The New Zealand national futsal team, nicknamed the Futsal Whites, is the representative side for New Zealand in international futsal and is governed by New Zealand Football (NZF). The nickname is a reference to the New Zealand national football team which is known as the All Whites, which in turn is based on the national team nicknames related to the All Blacks.

The 2010 OFC Futsal Championship was the seventh edition of the main international futsal tournament of the Oceanian region. It took place from August 8 to August 14, 2010, and was hosted by Fiji, which had also hosted the two previous editions.

The Tuvalu national futsal team is the representative team for Tuvalu in international futsal competitions. It is controlled by the Tuvalu National Football Association. They have never won a game. Tuvalu participates in Oceanian Futsal Championship.

The Vanuatu national futsal team is controlled by the Vanuatu Football Federation, the governing body for futsal in Vanuatu and represents the country in international futsal competitions, such as the World Cup and the Oceanian Futsal Championship.
