The 1994 Malta Grand Prix was the first edition of the professional invitational snooker tournament, which took place from 28 November to 4 December 1994. The tournament was played at the Jerma Palace Hotel in Valletta, Malta. [1]

John Parrott won the title, defeating Tony Drago 7–6 in the final. [2]

Ken Doherty is an Irish professional snooker player, commentator and radio presenter.

Graeme Dott Scottish professional snooker player, 2006 world champion

Graeme Dott is a Scottish professional snooker player and snooker coach from Larkhall. He turned professional in 1994 and first entered the top 16 in 2001. He has won two ranking titles, the 2006 World Snooker Championship and the 2007 China Open, and was runner-up in the World Championships of 2004 and 2010. He reached number 2 in the world rankings in 2007, but a subsequent episode of clinical depression seriously affected his form, causing him to drop to number 28 for the 2009–10 season. He then recovered his form, regained his top-16 ranking, and reached a third World Championship final. In 2011, he published his autobiography, Frame of Mind: The Autobiography of the World Snooker Champion. By reaching the final of the 2020 World Grand Prix, Dott became the first player to reach a ranking final in four different decades, the first being the 1999 Scottish Open.

The Malta Grand Prix was a professional snooker tournament which ran from the 1994/95 season to 2000/2001, sponsored by Rothmans. In 2000 only it was a European ranking tournament.

Joe Swail is a Northern Irish former World Top 10 professional snooker player from Belfast. He retired in May 2019 after being relegated from the tour. He has reached ten major ranking semi-finals, including the 2000 and 2001 World Championships but only one final. Swail is renowned for playing well at the Crucible Theatre, having reached the last 16 on four further occasions. He is also a former English amateur champion and Northern Ireland amateur runner-up, and has captained Northern Ireland internationally. He was Irish champion in 1992 and 2005.

Andy Hicks is an English professional snooker player. Nicknamed "The Cream of Devon", Hicks was a semi-finalist at both the World Snooker Championship and UK Championship in 1995, and the same stage at four other ranking tournaments.
