The Ukrainian Women's Professional Football League, WFPL, is part of the Ukrainian football clubs competitions among females that consists of two divisions, the Top League which has a professional status and the First League which was revived in 2013 after 20-year break and is a competition among amateur clubs. Participation of a club in league competitions has to be approved by regional football federations and the All-Ukrainian Association of Women's Football. The All-Ukrainian Association of Women's Football is Ukrainian public organization that governs and organizes all football competitions among females in Ukraine, including the league competitions.
Daryna Apanashchenko is a Ukrainian footballer, who plays as a striker for Fomget GSK and the Ukraine women's national football team. For 14 years she played in Russia for Russian Women's Football Championship teams Energiya Voronezh, Ryazan VDV, and Zvezda Perm.
Lehenda-ShVSM Chernihiv is a former Ukrainian professional women's football club from Chernihiv, Ukraine. In 2018 it merged with Yednist Plysky as Yednist-ShVSM Plysky.
WFC Donchanka, also known as Donchanka TsPOR for sponsorship reasons, is a Ukrainian women's football club from Donetsk. Founded in 1992 as Tekstilshchik Donetsk, it was renamed as Donetsk-Ros in 1994 before taking its current name in 1997. Donchanka was the leading Ukrainian team for much of the 1990s, winning five championships and four national cups between 1994 and 1999. In 1999, the club lost its sponsors and leading players, and the shift was made to young talented players. It was third in the 2012 championship, its best result since 2003.
