The 19th Separate Convoy Battalion is a battalion of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with transport and escort. It was established in 1992 and is garrisoned in Zaporizhzhia. Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, its tasks expanded to the protection of Ukrainian territorial integrity and has this seen combat during the 2023 Ukrainian counteroffensive.
It was established in 1992 following the Dissolution of the Soviet Union as a part of the National Guard of Ukraine and was then transferred to Internal Troops of Ukraine, it was again transferred back to the National Guard of Ukraine in 2014 following its reestablishment.
On 22 February 2017, the battalion celebrated the 60th anniversary of its establishment. [1] On 28 August 2017, the Battalion was presented with a Combat Flag. [2] It also received 323 thousand hyrvnias in aid in 2017 to strengthen the Battalion. [3]
Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the battalion saw combat mostly in Zaporizhzhia Oblast seeing action during the 2023 Ukrainian counteroffensive. On 2 February 2024, a soldier of the battalion (Bohdan Solyanyk) was killed as a result of a mortar strike while serving near Mala Tokmachka. [4] In 2024, a spy working for Russian federation and a member of the Ukrainian Communist Party provided classified information about the battalion but was apprehended and sentenced to 15 years in prison. The 92nd Assault Brigade "Ivan Sirko", abbreviated 92 OShBr, is a formation of the Ukrainian Ground Forces. Its honorific name is after Cossack military leader Ivan Sirko. The unit was formed in 1999 as the 6th Mechanized Division based on the 6th Division of the National Guard of Ukraine. In 2000 it was reorganized as the 92nd Mechanized Brigade. Following the Russo-Ukrainian war and the 2015 decommunization in Ukraine, the brigade's Soviet honors and heritage were purged.
406th Separate Artillery BrigadeCorporal General Oleksiy Almazov is a brigade of the Ukrainian Marine Corps. It was established in 1976 as a part of the Soviet Armed Forces and was transferred to Ukraine following its independence. It was originally a part of the Ukrainian Navy and became a part of the Marine Corps after its formation. It is currently based at Mykolaiv.
The 21st Separate Public Order Protection Brigade is a law enforcement brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with protection of the law and order as well as the territorial integrity of Ukraine. It was established in 1992 on the basis of the 25th Separate Special Motorized Militia Battalion as the 6th Regiment. The brigade's main headquarters is in Kryvyi Rih but some parts of it are garrisoned at Kropyvnytskyi.
The 23rd Public Order Protection Brigade "Khortytsia" is a Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with protection of the public order and the territorial integrity of Ukraine. It was established on January 2, 1992, as the 8th NG Regiment on the basis of the 22nd Separate Special Motorized Militia Battalion. It has seen combat during the War in Donbass and the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Its units are headquartered in Zaporizhzhia, Melitopol, Berdyansk and Energodar.
The 31st Public Order Protection Brigade "Major General Oleksandr Radievskyi" is a Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with protection of the public order and the territorial integrity of Ukraine. It was established on January 2, 1992, as the 5th NG Regiment on the basis of the 24th Separate Special Motorized Militia Battalion. It has seen combat during the War in Donbas and the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Its headquartered in Dnipro.
The 2nd Separate Mixed Galician Brigade is a brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine concerned with multiple roles including the extraction of Ukrainian personnel from the frontlines, logistical and combat support, maintenance of the public law and order, among other roles.
