The Campeonato Argentino de Rugby 2004 was won for the first time by the selection of Cuyo, (Mondoza).
No relegation, the next year the tournament returned to an eight-team formula.

The Argentine football league system include tournaments organised by the Argentine Football Association. Clubs affiliated to the body compete in the tournaments, which are split into categories or divisions.
The Campeonato Argentino de Mayores was an annual rugby union competition held in Argentina for provincial teams. The Campeonato Argentino was strictly amateur, and only players from local clubs were allowed to play. It was organised by the Argentine Rugby Union (UAR), with the last season held in 2017.
The Primera División de México, is the top professional football division of the Mexican football league system. Administered by the Mexican Football Federation, the league comprises 18 clubs with plans to add 2 more teams. The season has two tournaments: Apertura, which starts in the summer, and Clausura, which starts in the winter. The first 4 teams in the table at the end of the regular phase of the tournament qualify to the liguilla, while the next 8 teams qualify for another playoff that determines the next 4 liguilla spots.

The 1995 Campeonato Argentino de Rugby was won by selection of Cordoba that beat in the final the selection of Tucumàn The 20 teams were divided on 3 levels : "Campeonato", "Ascenso", "Clasificacion". Due to the incoming reduction to 6 teams in the higher level, the winner of the two pools of di "Ascenso" played a play-out for admission per to "Campeonato" against the third of the higher levels.
The 1997 Campeonato Argentino de Rugby was the 51st annual rugby competition held in Argentina in 1997. Cordoba defeated Rosario in the final game to win the tournament.

The 2011 Campeonato Argentino de Rugby 2011, the most important tournament for provincial teams in Argentina, and the older national tournament was played between 26 March and 23 April. The victory rose to the selection of Unión Cordobesa de Rugby led by the former Italian national team player Ramiro Pez. Like in the previous season, the teams were divided on three levels with a promotion/relegation format between the levels.
